Over the past few decades, religion has continued to move to the forefront of American politics, with many viewing fundamental Christianity as synonymous with the Republican Party. Donald Trump's presidency has increased this tenfold, with significant figures within American Christianity voicing their support for him and tying him into Biblical prophecies. In the media, this appears to have affected how this demographic views the COVID 19 pandemic. Within these four sections, I decided, for the purposes of this project, to focus on my interactions with Borderlands/La Frontera by Gloria Anzaldúa; Passing by Nella Larsen; Sister, Outsider by Audre Lorde; and Not Vanishing by Chrystos. Anzaldúa’s work focuses on her identity as a queer, Chicana woman inhabiting the U.S.-Mexico border. Passing details the experiences of a Black woman who can pass as white. Lorde’s work is a collection of essays which center her experience as a queer, Black woman. Chrystos’s work is a book of poetry centered in their queer, Two Spirit, Indigenous identity. This chapter presents the use of Lost & Found – a purpose-built tabletop to mobile game series – to teach medieval religious legal systems. The series aims to broaden the discourse around religious legal systems and to counter popular depiction of these systems which often promote prejudice and misnomers. A central element is the importance of contextualizing religion in period and locale. The Lost & Found series uses period accurate depictions of material culture to set the stage for play around relevant topics – specifically how the law promoted collaboration and sustainable governance practices in Fustat (Old Cairo) in twelfth-century …
