The Vagina Dentata: A Case For Unlocking Mouths, Loosing Hips, And Spreading The Gospel Of Healing Women's Sexual Performance Anxiety, Alisha Lola Jones

This article explores how vagina dentata folklore—stories and imagery about a mythical "toothed vagina"—connects to the ways Black religious communities often cultivate silence around women’s sexual lives, particularly within the “Worth the Wait” and Word of Faith movements. Ignited by womanist religious ethnographer Monique Moultrie’s scholarship on sexual silence in these movement, I take seriously the musicological chasm by exploring how these ministries influence Black women’s sexual agency and moral decision-making through inequitable theological procedures and discourses. The Armored League is a combat sports federation where modern-day knights fight with metal weapons, shields and armor. The league's first tournament took place in Chinatown, NYC on November 1, 2024 with eight men competing for a $1,000 prize.

The Lomax family got into the media business 13 years ago, just before it cratered for traditional editorial publications and radio stations.

The fall has been steep, especially for Black media. In 1978, when President Jimmy Carter announced an initiative to increase the number of radio stations owned by people of color, only about 1.2% – or 69 out of 8,196 – radio stations were minority owned. But after the Carter administration gave minority-run stations a boost, that number more than doubled to 182 radio stations owned by Black people alone by 1990.

This interdisciplinary research investigates the significance of the community connection between Black radio personnel and their audiences through the lens of collective and cultural memory narratives. The study addresses two key research questions. First, how do Black radio personnel’s collective and cultural memories contribute to the Black public sphere? Second, what are the defining characteristics in developing parasocial relationships and interactions between Black radio personalities and their audiences? The project is a 30-minute podcast that explores the topic of life and movement through the lens of smaller stories. Guided by a main narrator, with the intervention of experts, Reality in Motion seeks to provoke thought and inspire curiosity about the intricate dynamics that shape our world.

This senior project explores the audience engagement strategies of KCPR 91.3 FM, the student run radio station at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and lays the groundwork for future leadership to optimize the station’s platform. The project consists of 10 weeks of audience research, conducted through a survey distributed through social media, on KCPR’s website and at a variety of events. A Performance-Based Exploration Of Vocal Anatomy And Pedagogy: Maximizing Technical, Stylistic, And Physiological Frameworks For Superlative Vocal Technique In Artistic Function, Michael J. Civitano

This study investigates the influence of specific frameworks in performance and vocal pedagogy on artists' capacity to enact evidence-based learning outcomes, with emphasis on vocal physiology and educator-performer relationships. Employing an experimental design, five philosophies that support capacity-building were tested across two trial settings, varying in intensity. The participant utilized narrative reasoning, diversified methods, and mentorship from specialized educators to apply frameworks. Findings indicate that, in practicing evidence-based learning and maximizing anatomic foundations of the voice, substantial developments in artistic capacity ensued. Educator-performer relationships mediate this process through reciprocal collaborations that foster capacity-building. Performers display optimal artistic capacity by effectively …

Fiction podcasts, also knows as Audio Dramas, often afford a level of creative freedom to potential creators that is not seen in other popular media. This is seen explicitly through the marginalized representation that popular works in the medium allow. This work seeks to explore why the medium allows for such stories to flourish, as well as how these stories are received. Then, to test this theory, this paper documents the process of creating an audio drama, from conception to completion.
