Robert Corral began his life in French Camp in 1979. He is of mixed ancestry—Caucasian, Mexican and Native American, but feels he identifies most with his Native American heritage. Robert feels his interests, beliefs and personality are similar to those of other Native Americans. He is very proud to consider himself a part of the Northern Valley Yokut/Ohlone/Me-Wok tribe and the California Indian culture.

Multicultural education is one of the most challenging issues for modern scholars. This thesis studies the issue of ethnicity in teaching, using the works of Leslie Marmon Silko and Louise Erdrich and the theory of R. Radhakrishnan which outlines "programmatic" and "radical" ethnicity. Louise Erdrich and Leslie Silko are women about the same age, of mixed-race heritage, but they represent very different agendas within the Native American community and the American community as a whole. The project, which began in July 1976, and ended June 30, 1977, focused on ethnic groups in the area: Southern Appalachian, African-American and Native American. The collection includes a wide variety of material that could be used for research on York County and for instructional purposes by teachers. The collection consists of magazines, newspaper clippings, books, audio tapes, video cassettes, slides, transparencies, and copies of historical documents such as letters and land records.
