Is Man's Natural Desire For Perfect Happiness A Convincing Argument For Immortality, Felix Frank Taterczynski Apr 1935

Is Man's Natural Desire For Perfect Happiness A Convincing Argument For Immortality, Felix Frank Taterczynski

Bachelors’ Theses

The argument with which I shall concern myself in this treatise is not of isolated interest, but one which at one time or another is bound to occupy the thought of every thinking person. My aim here is not to construct a new original philosophical doctrine of my own, but to construct or offer an interpretation, on well-founded and established principles, of a doctrine which is hidden in the minds of every rational being. As a passing remark I say that I am not writing this thesis as a philosophic expert, because I am well aware of the fact that …

Motivation In Character, M. Rosita Jul 1931

Motivation In Character, M. Rosita

Bachelors’ Theses

WHAT IS CHARACTER? Dr. John Dewey puts it down as a commonplace that the end of all schoolwork is the development of character, but the difficulty lies in the execution of it. He gives as the reason for this difficulty of execution, the fact that we have not a clear conception of what character means. A Philosophical Dissertation On The Origin Of Ideas With Special Reference To Aristotle, Marion Thomas Lucareli Jun 1929

A Philosophical Dissertation On The Origin Of Ideas With Special Reference To Aristotle, Marion Thomas Lucareli

Bachelors’ Theses

The object of our inquiry is to investigate the Theory of Knowledge, or as it is better known; The Origin of Ideas. We shall investigate the existence, the origin, and the nature of the universal ideas. We shall determine whether these ideas are founded on the order of existing beings, or whether they are purely a mental construction having no objectivity.

Formation Of Ideas, Clarence Tennessen Jun 1928

Formation Of Ideas, Clarence Tennessen

Bachelors’ Theses

MAN! What a masterpiece of creation! What a wonder of wonders! In composition how harmonious, how singular! Regarded from merely a mechanical viewpoint, the human body is so infinitely complex, so harmonious, so responsive, so delicate and yet so powerful, that all wonders of nature dwarf in comparison. Our huge buildings and beautiful edifices all fade into insignificance when compared to that edifice of Man. The charming splendor and thrilling beauty of nature, of her snowcapped mountains, her warbling streams, her thundering falls and her mighty canyons that defy description, grow placid when compared to Man. Thus, Man stands alone.
