Individuals from the deaf and hard-of-hearing community are likely to experience more anxiety and depression due to defective cognitive, social, communicational, and emotional skills (Azizi et al., 2019). The word “disability” is embedded with historical negative connotations with phrases such as “deaf and dumb” because if they were deaf or mute then they were automatically labeled as inferior (Horovitz, 2007). Since the 18th century, the DHH community has been seen as incapable, even inhuman, hence the development of emotional deficiencies that bleed into one’s perception of society and their self esteem (Gallaudet, 1886).

Since 2018, worker's rights have become a forefront in the battle to developing a more equitable nation in Mexico, specifically regarding domestic employees. In my honors thesis I compare the rights of domestic workers in both the United States and Mexico using elements set forth in the SA8000 Standard formed by the Social Accountability International Organization in order to analyze which country grants more access to these liberties. I then examine different cross-cultural management styles in the countries as a method for explaining the differences in right. Research on false memory in bilinguals has discovered that false memories can transfer across languages and occur at a higher rate than for within-language false memories (Marmolejo et al., 2009). However, the exact conditions that cause the stronger between-language false memory effect are not clear, nor is it clear how language proficiency influences the production of false memories. The present study had three goals. First, we tested whether the stronger between- language false memory effect relative to the within-language effect would replicate. While many Scottish people today, and in the centuries since his life, believed that Bruce was the primary driving force of a consolidation of the Scottish nation and its independence, this paper will show that Bruce was only able to succeed to his position as monarch and to gain recognition of Scotland as a sovereign kingdom due to the actions of earlier peoples. University-level language and second-language classrooms typically use general rules of thumb to teach grammar without considering its conceptual aspects and cultural origins. These general rules of thumb are normally taught using a communicative approach to language teaching which typically places little emphasis on immediate corrective feedback and learner development. Most assessments are static in nature and focus on right and wrong answers rather than their origins (i.e., learner development and microgenesis). Perubahan budaya nomaden Suku Badui Negev dipengaruh oleh beberapa faktor eksternal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi fenomena tersebut, seperti adanya kebijakan Israel terhadap cara hidup Badui di Negev, yang pada awalnya dapat berkelana dengan bebas di padang gurun yang luas, sejak pembangunan Negara Israel pada 1948, semuanya berubah drastis. Transisi ini bahkan dibersamai dengan sengketa kepemilikan lahan yang terjadi antara Badui Negev dan pemerintah Israel. Suku Badui di Negev tidak lagi bisa berpindah-pindah seperti sebelumnya. Penelitian ini menganalisis makna leksem makara yang terdapat di dalam bahasa Arab dan Al-Qur’an, dan makna kata makar yang terdapat pada bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi leksem makara yang diserap ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia tidak memiliki makna ‘menjatuhkan Pemerintah’ atau berasosiasi dengan politik. Untuk membuktikan leksem makara tidak memiliki makna ‘menjatuhkan Pemerintah’, seluruh leksem makara dan derivasinya di dalam Al-Qur’an yang berjumlah 43 tidak memiliki makna tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mono no awareness yang terdapat dalam film “Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni” atau “In This Corner of the World” dengan bantuan teori mise en scène. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan metode analisis deskriptif. Lima adegan dengan empat belas foto terlampir dari film ini digunakan sebagai sampel data untuk analisis. This research aims to explain the hidden narrative in the slametan of the ulur-ulur ritual at Telaga Buret, Sawo Village, Campurdarat District, Tulungagung Regency. In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the long sequences of ulur-ulur rituals were summarized by only conducting slametan. This indicates that the main foundation of the ulur-ulur ritual is slametan. To find the core ideology of slametan, this study employed the ethnographic approach. Data were obtained through participatory research and in-depth interview. The collected data were then transcribed and analyzed using related theories. On the peak sanctuary Agio Georgios on the island of Kythera, and at the archaeological site of Troullos on Crete, two Linear A (LA) inscribed ladles have been found. They are unique in that they are the only inscribed Minoan ladles found to date. Because inscription is not a common feature of Minoan ladles, the purpose of these two inscriptions is of particular interest. However, Linear A, the writing system of the Minoans, remains undeciphered and is unlikely to be translated for the foreseeable future. Based on data collected in central and southern Mexico, this article examines ideologies embedded in the language learning policies of this country. By qualitatively analyzing 72 interviews to 24 participants, field notes, and the author’s reflective journal, this research investigates the impact of language policies amongst teachers from three different states: Puebla (2017, 2019, 2021), Oaxaca (2018), and Tlaxcala (2020-2021). After comparing the situations of participants, I suggest that nativist, (neo)colonial and neoliberal ideologies—which are prevalent in language policies in Mexico—foster the perpetual delegitimization of language teachers.

Under what conditions do violent nonstate actors (VNA) succeed against states? Why does David sometimes beat Goliath? Since at least the time of Thucydides and the Peloponnesian Wars, the realist narrative in international relations measures power primarily in relative, coercive, and deterrent terms. Strong states should accordingly face fewer constraints and enjoy more options while pursuing their national interests. Unconventional warfare, and its subsets of terrorism and insurgency, should—given these circumstances, end in VNA failure. Sometimes, however, VNAs find success.
