A Pilot Study Of Wichita Indian Archeology And Ethnohistory, Robert E. Bell, Edward B. Jelks, W., W. Newcombe
Index of Texas Archaeology: Open Access Gray Literature from the Lone Star State
In 1965 several anthropologists drew up plans for a one-year pilot study of the archeology and ethnohistory of the Wichita Indian tribes. After financial support had been generously provided by the National Science Foundation, the proposed research was carried out. This is a report on the results of that study.
The pilot study was designed to: a) obtain a body of field data from the components of the Spanish Fort sites, the largest and best=documented of the historic Wichita sites in the Red River area; b) make test excavations at several other sites in order that a problem=oriented program of …

A Survey Of Advertising Copy Appeals As Seen In The Milwaukee Journal From January, 1937 To January, 1938, Frances M. Revere
Bachelors’ Theses
The purpose of this thesis is to show what copy appeal are current in present day advertising columns as exemplified by advertising appearing in the Milwaukee Journal for the year, 1937. Advertising copy may be divided into many categories, but the most obvious are the distinct groups which appeal either to the senses or to reason. If this thesis does no more than break down these groups as displayed on the newspaper page and analyze them for their individuating traits, then it will have accomplished its purpose.

The History Of The Evolution Of Shorthand, Selma O. Preuss
Bachelors’ Theses
One manifestation of man's superiority over the rest of the animal kingdom consists in the power of communicating thought by means of speech. At first when all mankind dwelt together, a spoken language was sufficient to meet the demands. Consequently, the art of writing was introduced, crude at first, but gaining in ease, grace, and speed through the ages, until it reached the acme of its perfection. To the literary art the whole commonwealth of other arts must bow down am resign …
