The women at Lawrence began to be “historical individuals” by gradually gathering rights and minimizing restrictions. Lawrence women did not have the same education as men for at least the first eighteen years of the university’s history; neither did they have the same restrictions or the same organizations. But the 674 women who graduated from Lawrence from 1857-1922 were given a unique and rare opportunity in their time.

This thesis is a study of the impact of the Second World War on Zeeland, the most southerly maritime province of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The thesis attempts to describe life in Zeeland before the outbreak of war and then looks at the changes caused by the arrival of the Germans in may 1940. For four and a half years Zeelanders (hereafter referred to as Zeeuws) lived and worked under the yoke of German rule and oppression before exchanging that yoke for freedom. It was here that Canadians played a role.

The Sentinel and Orange and Protestant Advocate was the organ of the Orange Order in Canada and spoke for the Lodge on a wide range of social and political issues. This thesis will examine the paper’s views on moral and religious questions and the major issues at the three levels of Canadian politics between 1877 and 1896.

The paper was published weekly in Toronto and distributed across North America, although the bulk of the circulation remained in Ontario. The Sentinel was published and edited by Edward Frederick Clarke, who also pursued a successful career at all three levels in Canadian …

Recognizing the relationship between domestic and international oppression of people of color, Cross Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI, declared itself a public sanctuary for Central American refugees.

The September service to inaugurate the sanctuary site also commemorated the 20th Anniversary of the bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL, where four girls died during the height of the civil rights struggle.

This typed document, circa 1983, outlines the activities of Dennis Banks in California from 1976-1982, prior to his move to the Onondaga Reservation in New York. It lists events that Dennis Banks helped organize, such as the first Sun Dance held in California, the "Longest Walk" protest march, the first American Indian International Arts Exposition and the Airlift of food and other supplies to Indians in Arizona and South Dakota. Many of the activities listed are related to Banks' involvement in Deganawidah-Quetzalcoatl University.

The Octofoil is the offical publication of the Ninth Infantry Division Association, Inc., an organization formed by the officers and men of the 9th Infantry Division in order to perpetuate the memory of fallen comrades, preserve the esprit de corps of the Division, promote peace and serve as an information bureau about the 9th Infantry Division. The Association is made up of 9th Infantry veterans from WWII and Vietnam, spouses, widows and lineal descendants.

Ms. Reynolds researched and collected prominent documents of members of the Burnside family including a diary, newspaper clippings, articles, and books. Ms. Reynolds also collected an extensive amount of records of her ancestors including census records, war records, and records from the families’ origins in Great Britain.
