Also included is a note to the manuscripts librarian thanking him for use of the books. Also included is an incomplete bibliography of the Hatfield and McCoy feud.

Manuscript Collection

The Boulware Family Papers consist of photocopies of a plantation journal (302 pages) kept by Thomas McCullough Boulware I (1829-1889) and a genealogy of the Boulware family written by James Richmond Boulware II of Lakeland, Florida, in 1948. The journal concerns the Blackstocks Plantation in Chester County, South Carolina and subjects include the planting of crops and farming of land; family events, such as deaths, births and marriages; family travel and vacations; church affairs, including the local temperance league; land sales; free black and northerners in Chester County after the Civil War.

The Octofoil, January/February 1977, Ninth Infantry Division Association

The Octofoil

The Octofoil is the offical publication of the Ninth Infantry Division Association, Inc., an organization formed by the officers and men of the 9th Infantry Division in order to perpetuate the memory of fallen comrades, preserve the esprit de corps of the Division, promote peace and serve as an information bureau about the 9th Infantry Division. The Association is made up of 9th Infantry veterans from WWII and Vietnam, spouses, widows and lineal descendants.

This collection has been divided into three series: diaries, research material, and other historical material.

The diaries series is composed of 57 years of diaries by Kraybill recording everything from the weather to his professional life. They encompass time he spent in Wheeling, WV, parts of Pennsylvania, and living in Huntington, WV since 1945.

The research material series is composed of copies of papers read at various West Virginia history meetings, copies of primary source documents, and other papers written or collected by Kraybill in pursuit of his interest in local history.

This collection contains a bound typescript entitled 'Family records of the Brooks family' of Wyoming County, West Virginia, including information about the Cook and Canterbury families. The typescript includes not only standard genealogical information, but biographical information about the Brooks family members as well. Also included in the collection is a one-page typed transcription of an 1850 letter by Richard Brooks regarding personal and religious affairs.
