Dayton and Miami Valley Oral History Project

On April 29, 2001 Matt Opperman interviewed Helen Schemmel, the interviewer’s great-grandmother, for a class project dealing with oral histories and capturing the history of the Miami Valley. In the interview Helen discusses being a young adult during the Depression and her life during World War II.

On April 22, 2001 Rebecca Moor interviewed William Nichols, a World War II paramedic, for a class project dealing with oral histories and capturing the history of the Miami Valley. During the interview William discusses his life, joining the navy, and his experiences in World War II. The majority of the interview focuses on his experience serving during World War II.
