John Sevier gained fame for his role in the Revolutionary War Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780 and as a frontiersman.

This is a debit receipt indicating Ephraim Curtis' payment for the boarding of Levi Carter, who was "committed" by William Dunsmoor for desertion. Carter was boarded for 4 weeks and 3 days. Curtis is also paid for a "turning key."

Silas Deane was a member of the Continental Congress. The document is a lengthy description of a lease entered by Deane, Administrator of the estate of Deacon Silas Deane of Groton to Humphrey and Solomon Avery. The lease included 200 acres of land, part of which was then in dispute.

An account of a civil suit, including witness testimony, of charges of assault and criminal conversation against the defendant for having unlawful martial relations with the plaintiff’s wife. The evidence presented during the trial suggests witness tampering took place on the part of the plaintiff, which resulted in a verdict for the defendant. Printed for J. Huggonson in Sword and Buckler Court, Ludgate-Hill. 1741.
