This thesis addresses the topic of German espionage in the United States between 1935 and 1945. It examines what the expectations were for Germany's spies in America, their activities, and the success or failure of their operations. In addition, the reaction of the American public to these spies is also studied, as well as the response to what was perceived as a threat to the United States from Nazi Germany.

This thesis is a study of the impact of the Second World War on Zeeland, the most southerly maritime province of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The thesis attempts to describe life in Zeeland before the outbreak of war and then looks at the changes caused by the arrival of the Germans in may 1940. For four and a half years Zeelanders (hereafter referred to as Zeeuws) lived and worked under the yoke of German rule and oppression before exchanging that yoke for freedom. It was here that Canadians played a role.

This thesis is a survey of the available material on the submarine issue during 1914-1917 as a factor in German-American relations which contributed to the American declaration of war in April 1917. No other scholarly work is devoted solely to the submarine issue during this period. The purpose of this thesis is to focus on the submarine as an international legal issue. German-American relations were strained during 1914-1917, because of the different interpretations of international law regarding the submarine. Mission Of Mercy: The U.S. Military Mission In Berlin, 1919, Thomas R. Magnuson

My topic for this thesis, the U. S. Military Mission in Berlin in 1919, was the organization responsible for tending to allied prisoners imprisoned in Germany after the First World War. Most of these prisoners were Russians cut off from their homes by the Russian Revolution and the allied strategy for containing the Soviet threat. At no time did the Mission's staff number over 1,000, but this small organization worked wonders in sustaining and repatri­ating thousands of non-American prisoners. The scope of the Mission's work created numerous problems in organization and presentation.

Radio propaganda was one of the chief weapons of psychological warfare used by the Nazis. When Hitler came to power, one of the aims of Nazi propaganda was to make his new order acceptable to the powers abroad, before preparing the ground for his expansionist moves. The new ruler of Germany regarded propaganda, rather then diplomacy, as the more suitable instrument to attain the desired end.

This paper presents an analysis of the forces of the "new imperialism" that led Italy to war with Turkey in 1911-1912. The interests of the Powers of Europe and America in the area of the Mediterranean Sea and North Africa are examined. The focal point is a resumé of the military aspects of the Tripolitan War. The concluding chapters deal with diplomatic reactions to Italy's conquest of Tripolitania and the judgment that Italy did not benefit from her imperial adventure.

In 1811 Napoleon Bonaparte, the Emperor of France, was the virtual dictator of Europe, and his word controlled the destiny of men and nations alike.  The only opposition which threatened his rule came from two nations, England and Russia  In 1812 he set out to destroy the larger of these two, Russia. Napoleon was aware of the problems involved in an invasion of so large a country. To achieve his purpose, he formed a Grand Army of over 1,300,000 men, of whom 575,000 were to be involved in the actual invasion. The Grand Army outnumbered the Russians by almost three …
