They vigorously shook cream, milk and sugar until they had butter, which was then used in the preparation of their Thanksgiving lunch. This provoked me to relate my experience as a kid about his age in using the "Ankemiili" (butter mill). When I had finished the story, my younger daughter exclaimed: "I never knew …

On Sport and Society
It's that time of year once again. One of America's premier sporting events is about to take place. The one which identifies itself using Roman Numerals. It is less than forty-eight hours from Super Sunday, and there probably hasn't been this much Yankee pillaging in Atlanta since Sherman's troops were in town 130 years ago.

Winona Campus Life
Winona Campus Life was a weekly laboratory newspaper produced by the WSU Mass Communciation Department students and printed as a supplement to the Sunday Winona Daily News, which began in September 1983. The newspaper provided coverage of the four institutions of higher education in Winona: Winona State University, St. Mary's University, College of Saint Teresa, and Winona Area Vocational-Technical School. It was created to provide a place for Mass Communcation students to publish their articles and photographs with the idea of generating reader feedback, which is essential in journalism education.
