The Bears then embark on a six-week New England schedule that will be played primarily on the road. The Bears will feel the loss of several key players: pitcher Lynn Hearty (18-8, 1.42 ERA), first baseman Michelle Duprey (.327), second baseman Denise Boutin (.314), third baseman Sue Goulet (.369), shortstop Asa Brown, and outfielder Kerrie Higgins.
