This poster investigates the life, career, and travels of Klara May, the widow of Karl May. Klara May devoted her later years to promoting her late husband’s legacy, and I will focus in particular on her 1931 "Mit Karl May dutch Amerika," a travelogue documenting her solo journey through the American West to visit the places that Karl May never had. I will visually explore her career in my poster, incorporating both her written works and her photography.
