Luminous Days is a representation of my artistic vision, literary goals, and social influences. Artistically, I intend to create fiction that is aesthetically appealing. This aesthetic appeal includes the presence of a distinct narrative voice, realistically rendered settings, multidimensional characters, meticulous attention to diction, and sentence construction. The literary goal I hold in the highest regard is the creation of a body of work that demonstrates continued growth in my craft.

These poems are grouped as they are in order to reflect a progression, a trail at the end of which my own spirituality is not found, but revealed. A subtitle might be Dilemmas and Destinations, for each poem can also be viewed individually as a struggle or desire to reach this goal. In fact, I label my two sub-sections in precisely these terms. I have organized them not to build upon one another, but to act as "snapshots" that describe my beliefs. Everything Else is Real is a story of escape. It begins in Glendale, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, where Raymond Gutters is in the midst of a crank binge. The first part of the book deals with Los Angeles nightlife through the eyes of the drug. Among others we are introduced to Gerald, a small-time dealer, and Dana, Gerald's estranged junkie girlfriend, who is also having an affair with Raymond.

There's Hector Malice, the trailer-trash life-long friend and Kevin's rival for the love of Kevin's life, Ginger Lane. Then, there's Ginger, the former Ms. Lewis County turned drug abusing waitress and worse. Revealed are the secrets of the car business and other marginally legal short cons.

This thesis follows several groups of wacky characters on a cross country adventure. The story begins with the death and subsequent reincarnation of the hermetic genius, Archibald Constable. The recently departed recluse bequeaths his estate to Loretta Pontelli, a loudmouth Italian woman, who feels morally obligated to find Archibald's next of kin. Eyes of the Mirror is a memoir of transition. Chronologically, it begins with a kind of death in 1996 when the author was forty-eight. Exhausted and disillusioned, she ended her first life as a successful but financially struggling potter, writer, and T'ai Chi instructor. Over the course of twenty-four years, the strain of following a bliss that lay outside of the economy had worn her out. Our culture today faces a crisis with our young women. Between the ages of ten and fifteen, young women attempt to define their identities under societal pressure, and in the midst of sometimes overwhelmingly dysfunctional families. F̲r̲o̲n̲t̲i̲e̲r̲s̲ is a play that deals with these issues.
As Eve struggles to define herself as a free human being, separate from June, her emotionally needy mother, she also feels the inevitable entanglement of her identity with that of her family.
