يحلّل المقال قصيدة ”إرادة الحياة“ لأبي القاسم الشابّي انطلاقًا من فرضيّة مفادها أنّ دلالة الأمل في هذه القصيدة لا تُدرَك إلّا داخل العالم الشعريّ الذي بناه الشابّي في مدوّنته، وهو عالم لا تناقُض فيه بين ”بلاغة الأمل“ و”بلاغة اليأس،“ فلكلتا البلاغتين عمق خياليّ وفكريّ غير الظاهر منه في هذه القصيدة أو تلك. وللوصول إلى تحديد مآتي الأمل في شعر الشابّي، يقارب المقال عالمه الشعريّ داخل إطارين نظريّين: أوّلهما ما تقترحه علينا نظريّة الاستعارة التصوّريّة لدى لايكوف (Lakoff ) وجونسن (Johnson)، ومن سار على نهجهما، من طرقٍ في بنْيَنَة النسيج اللغويّ-الاستعاريّ-التصوّريّ للأمل في القصيدة؛ وثانيهما ما نجده في نظريّة جلبار دوران …

“I am the war my family forgot to mention.” With these words from my essay, “My Parents Never Taught Me About My Ancestors,” I stake my position in the struggle for happiness. In a series of five experimental essays, I aim to reflect upon my assimilated white, working-class upbringing in the US Midwest and the emptiness with which it has left me. Deploying fragmentary essay forms, elements of memoir, question-and-answer, quotation, prayer, and other devices, I hope to pose destabilizing questions about our understandings of whiteness, masculinity, ancestry, and faith. This thesis is about the representation of women and racial minorities and the incorporation of folklore and fantastical elements in contemporary American short fiction. This incorporation includes the characterization of nonwhite characters in fiction and the role they serve. This paper presents a study on the extent to which creative literature been used as a vessel to carry forward the development of mathematical thought. The role of mathematics as a driving force for literature is highlighted, and while many examples exist that clearly show an attempt to disperse mathematical ideas, with Lewis Carroll, OuLiPo and ancient poetry considered, the argument that the sole purpose of the writings was for the sake of mathematical development is not clear-cut.

In this project portfolio, I will address the following NPO: The fragmented church has countless interpretations of truth caused by tribal fear, which has created ongoing divisions and a longing for control. If unified in Jesus, we could see radical inclusivity in future generations. The key finding in my research revealed the unifying power of Jesus being the ultimate authority of our faith, Bible readings, and Christian practice.
