Old Crow And Men, Emily Howard Pasmore

Old Crow and Men is a novel about a young woman's coming of age. The story takes place in the hometown of the protagonist, and depicts a number of relationships she has with men over a period of eight years. Some of these relationships are with family members, some are friendships, and others are romantic. The narrative moves along based on the relationships the protagonist encounters and the effects they have on her.

In The Slats Of This Small Town: A Collection Of Poetry, Maegon L. Mayes

The majority of these poems were inspired by actual small-town figures and instances, so the pairing down of narrative substance and the varying rhythm of common language are applied throughout. For this reason, most of the poems are written in free verse. One exception is a single poem that is near Tanka; that poem and a few other concept poems included are a bit more universal in content and are without the same colorations of fixed time and place, drifters that came to the mindscape of this collection.

From amazon.com: Considering the time Hemingway spent not only on the safaris but also in preparing for them beforehand and writing about them afterwards, Africa was a major factor in his life and work. But surprisingly little scholarship has been devoted to this aspect of Hemingway's oeuvre. This book fills that empty niche, opening the way for a long-delayed and multi-faceted conversation on a neglected aspect of Hemingway's work. Topics treated include historical, theoretical, biographical, theological, and literary interpretations of Hemingway's African topics and motifs.

Raise The Still Rabbit, Michael Kroesche

My first collection of poetry, Raise the Still Rabbit, explores the literal landscape we live in, the themes of language and lyric, as well as the relationships between people. The poems are rooted in the experiential, the moments when the act of writing becomes a navigation of the various themes of the local environment, cohabitation between individual people, and the geography of the poems' content and textual construction. Navigating these themes, the poems attempt to dissolve the illusory barriers that appear to separate subjects such as the interior of a home from the desert surrounding it. In this collection, …
