GROWTH THEORY reckons with a natural world in distress and imagines what attributes and learnings are needed for the individual to become a more beneficial part of the natural world. What does a person’s interaction with their surroundings say about them, and say about the surroundings? Violence, art, relationships, community are all examined along with the mediums through which we record our reality: speaking, writing, singing, taking photos. Q2S Enhancing Pedagogy

This syllabus was written in response to the FLC symposium led by Jessica Luck. It draws on elements I have previously used in teaching the large lecture 170—Studies in Literature—and adapts those elements to address the issues raised in Q2S Enhanced Pedagogy discussions, particularly to develop best practices, and to include a creative component for a new course offering which combines analysis with creative practice.

English Department: Research for Change - Wicked Problems in Our World

“The Wickedness of Obesity” is written by myself, Justin Epps. This study evaluates the problems and causes of obesity. It has taken the lives of all different types of people. Being overweight can also affect what a person can do on a daily basis, as their weight can prevent them from participating in activities. Lab results show typical percentages of obesity among men and women along with other factors. This analysis shows that obesity is a major concern throughout the population within different groups. I conclude that obesity is a large issue in the world today.
