An Experimental Study On Drag Reduction Of Aftermarket Additions On An Suv, Christiana L. Katsoulos
An Experimental Study On Drag Reduction Of Aftermarket Additions On An Suv, Christiana L. Katsoulos
Senior Honors Projects, 2010-2019
Over recent years, the awareness of climate change has become more prevalent worldwide and one major contributor to global warming has been the use of transportation. Vehicles contribute to global warming by releasing petroleum based emissions such as significant amounts of carbon dioxide and numerous other harmful environmental pollutants. SUVs contribute to the emissions problem more so than sedans, since they have lower gas mileage and need more gasoline regularly. The main functionality of sport utility vehicles, or SUVs, includes hauling or off-roading and fuel efficiency is not always the focus in the design process. However, aerodynamic enhancements could improve …

Jun-Jun Sta.Ana Interview, Jackson Hughlett
Asian American Art Oral History Project
Bio: Jun-Jun Sta.Ana is a self-taught multi-disciplinary artist born on September 19, 1963 to Remigio Benavidez Sta.Ana and Emma Cecilio Catral in Manila, Philippines. He moved to the United States at the age of 24, shortly after finishing a degree in Dentistry. He started his art career late just before he was turning 40- having a solo show of digital works using appropriated images from free porn sites which he deconstructed and embellished with images and symbols culled from Filipino talismans. His practice has become multi-disciplinary, and while still utilizing found images and materials, he also employs the technique of …
Led Screen Resolution: A Lego Visualization, Andrew S. Trowbridge
Led Screen Resolution: A Lego Visualization, Andrew S. Trowbridge
Williams Honors College, Honors Research Projects
As a graphic designer, understanding the way a computer displays type and image is extremely beneficial. Before going into college, my knowledge of how a line of ones and zeros translates to a full color, high definition screen of pixels was abstract at best. This project serves to explore and demonstrate the meaning and process of LED screen resolution through a more playful and tangible lens of LEGO® bricks.
LEGOS® encourage the creative, child-like side of us. The bricks become a doorway into another side of learning. It pushes us to not be afraid to explore and delve deeper into …

Open / Close: Assimilating Immersive Spaces In Visual Communication, Anika Sarin
Theses and Dissertations
I am interested in two spaces obverse to each other: open and closed. An open space develops organically based on how people inhabit it. Interacting with an open space is a dynamic, sporadic, multisensory, immersive, and subjective experience. In such spaces, we are confronted with an alternative aesthetic, one that is in conflict with the seamlessness of a closed space. A closed space is anchored on definite variables like structure, use and boundaries. While interaction between people and space is important, the space is tightly controlled and interaction is designed. Through this thesis project, I present a method that metaphorically …
