In the context of broad historical, political and economic influences, this thesis examines how Tarabiin Bedouin women of the the South· Sinai perceive themselves in the complex of social relations that make up their daily lives. Through the methods of life history and participant observation the research finds that women value behavior and attitudes that conform with ideals of honor and yet express contadictory sentiments through poetry and in close emotional relationships . This project provides an historical overview of the women’s movement in Argentina and the United States from the early nineteen hundreds to the present. This paper provides examples of women whose influences brought historical change to each nations, as well as the laws that benefited women’s rights that were passed during this century. This study concludes with an analysis of where the feminist movement is today in both countries and what the future will bring.

Funding Of Women's Programs By Minnesota Foundations, Suzanne E. Runte

All Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Other Capstone Projects

The purpose of this thesis was to determine how much money Minnesota foundations contributed to programs for women. The study examined the grants awarded by a representative sample of 12 Minnesota foundations over a four year period (1980-1983). Data was collected from foundations' annual reports or 990 tax forms. The amount of funding each foundation contributed to women's programs and the type of services founded were recorded.

Results from the study indicated that programs for women do not received much of the total amount of funding given by these Minnesota foundations. The four year average percentage of funding to women …

As may be readily seen, mass confusion pervades this problem. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the various approaches interpreters have used to understand the apostle Paul's teaching on the role of women in the church and to offer alternative ways to view the Pauline texts. Not only will I interact with the feminists on their specific perspectives of the pertinent Pauline texts, but I will examine the hermeneutical presuppositions of these writers and also attempt to discern their perspective of Scripture and how that affects the exegetical fruit they produce.

This paper is a study of American women's intellectual history in the period 1770-1815. My aim is to develop a coherent conception of women's moral point of view as it is presented in prescriptive literature, political tracts, and women's own writing. Because of the nature of my goal, I will attempt to glean women's ideas out of the extant primary source material of this period. As the aim of this study implies the existence of a prescribed point of view which women were to share, I will use numerous examples from the genre of prescriptive literature.

Much of Utah's history is the story of the relationship of humans and the land. Human perceptions of Utah's land have changed over time and affected the way it has been used. The homestead movement was an important phase in the use of Utah's land. Through federal settlement acts many Utahns obtained title to public land. This study is an attempt to learn more about the relationship between women and the land and about the lives of women in Utah.
The study is based on Utah land records from 1869-1934. Most homesteading activity in Utah took place during this period. …

The problem of alcoholism is a major health concern in our society . I t is considered to be a disease that is treatable, but not curable . The number of women entering treatment for alcoholism has increased steadily in t he past few years . Since statistics indicate that there is a high rate of relapse and recidivism within this group, treatment methods that can aid in the recovery process are important.
