Samuel Daniel: His Importance As A Literary Figure, Ronald Gaffney
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
An investigation of the literary conventions and an evaluation of the way they are employed by Daniel will help to provide some indication of his literary importance. To examine the traditional conventions he uses will, to some degree, indicate where Daniel fits into the literary society of the Elizabethan Age. A study of some of his innovations and a few of his distinctive ways of using traditional motifs will help to demonstrate his overall importance to literature.

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

A questionnaire was developed that would be an effective measurement of the information needed to evaluate or substantiate the hypothesis which was: It is believed that less than 50 percent of the primary grade children have poetry read to them daily as part of the curriculum. Furthermore, it is believed that much of the poetry read does not meet the standards of "good poetry for children" as measured by experts in this field of learning.
The study revealed that only 11 percent …

The Alchemy Of Art: A Study In The Evolution Of The Creative Mind Of John Keats, G. Brian Sullivan
The Alchemy Of Art: A Study In The Evolution Of The Creative Mind Of John Keats, G. Brian Sullivan
Department of English: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research
From the time John Keats began Endymion (March 1817) until his abandonment of the second version of Hyperion (September 1819), we have thirty vital months comprising a span of development unparalleled in English literature. This dissertation focuses upon the central feature of that development— the evolution of the creative mind of the poet. I do not purpose another factual biography of Keats, but rather an exploration of the internal autobiography of the poet in self-genesis as this evolvement is impressed upon the symbolic structures of his works. In artistic vitality, incisiveness of thought, and individual sublimity, Keats achieved a ripeness …
