Self-Care Practices, Mental Well-Being, And Motivation Among Mothers: A Cross-Sectional Assessment And Self-Care Intervention Pilot Study, Jennifer Lynn Plum
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Women with children have poorer mental health than their peers who do not have children due to the additional stressors brought on by their roles as parents. Previous research has shown that when the amount of time a person practices self-care increases, their mental well-being and satisfaction with life also increase. What research had not answered is whether increased amounts of time spent practicing self-care increases a mother’s motivation to complete her daily tasks. There is also a gap in research for specific self-care interventions that result in improvement in well-being and motivation. I sought to identify the correlation between …

Journal Devoted To Questions Of Ancient Transoceanic Contacts
Insights: The Newsletter of the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship
Academia has often ignored controversial evidence of early cultural contact between the Old and New Worlds. Pre-Columbiana: A Journal of Long-Distance Contacts brings attention to rigorous scholarship supporting diffusionist claims while meeting the demands of scholarly and scientific objectivity. Developed by Stephen C. Jett, a geography professor at the University of California, Davis, the interdisciplinary journal offers studies that have been reviewed by a panel of scholars that includes John L. Sorenson, a BYU emeritus professor of anthropology and FARMS associate who has published widely on the subject.

Brown Bag Report
Insights: The Newsletter of the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship
On 30 October John L. Clark, emeritus instructor in the Church Educational System, spoke on the topic “Painting Out the Messiah: Theologies of the Dissidents.” Clark began by showing that Lehi, Nephi, and Jacob all taught specifically about the Messiah but that dissidents like Sherem and Nehor opposed their teachings with “theologies” that denied Christ’s redemptive role and godhood, thereby causing many believers to lose faith. Clark then examined the arguments of the dissidents in the Book of Mormon to show what the prophets were teaching and what the objections to those teachings were. He discusses this topic at length …

Honors Projects
In Fall 2021, I studied abroad in Rome, Italy during the COVID-19 pandemic. During my four months, I had the opportunity to travel not only throughout Italy, but around Europe as well. In this guide, I lay out every trip I took and wrote tips and tricks for each area I went to. I go through overall points to keep in mind when traveling through Italy and Europe, what to eat, where to stay, what activities you should (and maybe shouldn't) do, and a little bit of history of what I'm talking about. I also list all of the apps …

A Study In Transparency, Rachel Wilson
A Study In Transparency, Rachel Wilson
Williams Honors College, Honors Research Projects
In a generation that feels more lost than ever, we need transparency in order to feel less alone. We need to see others, and we need to truly see ourselves. This is my way of being seen, and in turn, helping others to feel seen and understood. When I was in middle school I began to record my daily life and thoughts in journals, which evolved to help me cope as I grew up. In putting these pages on display, I’m presenting myself. That’s Rachel Wilson. I’m a writer, a designer, an artist, maybe a song writer. Maybe a lot …
Announcing A Change In Jbs Publication Schedule
Announcing A Change In Jbs Publication Schedule
Newsletter of the Jussi Björling Societies of the USA & UK
You may have noticed that our 2020 Journal this year was significantly longer than usual, and has been slowly expanding in recent years. And you will find that this Newsletter has also grown beyond its traditional eight-page format. With these deliberate changes in mind, the Board of Directors has decided to eliminate the Fall Newsletter (which has always been a challenge, coming out only three months prior to the Journal). This decision will also result in the elimination of layout, printing and postage costs.

Thank you so much for the current Jussi Journal. I was deeply saddened, to learn of the passing of Anna-Lisa and Janet. I had often thoughf of Anna-Lisa as "mia sorella Svenska." Bob and l would often address her as such with great affection. We did stay in contact and Veronica Bjorling kept m up to date when Anna-Lisa no long could.

“Your Pettiest Hill” Journal Assignment, Christopher R. Ortega
Proceedings of the New York State Communication Association
The purpose of this assignment is to have students feel comfortable discussing difficult topics in a low stake’s manner. Getting students engaged in the material allows everyone to feel comfortable in the class space. This assignment allows students to focus on the “trees” in their journal entries. They are then primed and more comfortable discussing the “forest” (i.e., tougher topics) in class.

As explained in the previous issue of this Journal, several of us are going to Sweden in June, and we welcome other members to join us in this "lightly-structured" tour of Stockholm and Borlange. The idea is that you can join us when you wish and travel separately when you prefer. Rail passes may make this independence especially easy. (Some examples are given below.)
