The two purposes of this recital are to partially fulfill the requirements for the Master of Music degree in Jazz Pedagogy and to display proficiency on the drum set, piano, and string bass. Anna Godtland presented her graduate recital on April 27, 2026, at 7:30 PM in Bengtson Auditorium. The recital program included two pieces each on piano, drum set, string bass, and four pieces on trombone. These selections showcased an array of styles and required a variety of skills necessary to fulfill the requirements of the Jazz Pedagogy degree. Despite its historical significance and continued evolution, some theatre companies and many academic institutions still struggle to clearly define or effectively integrate the dramaturg’s role. This thesis hopes to create a framework for novice dramaturgs by examining the origins and development of dramaturgy, analyzing its shifting functions in contemporary theatre, offering my own dramaturgical experiences through the lens of three quite different plays and finally, establishing basic principles of the discipline. Historians have frequently emphasized voluntary enlistment as the primary means through which Black men entered military service, portraying military participation as an expression of autonomy and a pathway toward freedom and citizenship. Within this scholarship, few historians have examined how Black participation in the Union army as draftees and substitutes impacted Black men and their families. This thesis examines the role of drafting and substitution in shaping Black military participation in the Union Army during the American Civil War. In this dissertation, I examine how Latinx and Latina audiences engaged with and interpreted Disney’s 2021 Encanto, an animated film celebrated for its representation of Colombian and broader Latinx culture. While scholarship on Latinx representation in media has expanded, less attention has been given to how Latinx audiences themselves respond to narratives that are meant to represent them, particularly within fan studies. Focusing on both a broader Latinx fan community and first-generation Latinas in the United States, this project explores how audiences negotiate representation and recognition using Encanto as a media text that centered a Latinx story. Drawing from …

This dissertation utilizes a combination of archival research, qualitative interviews, and data-driven analyses to examine how the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Jacksonville came under the governance of the University of North Florida (UNF). Founded in 1924, MOCA became a cultural institute of UNF in 2009 during the Great Recession. Tracing MOCA’s reinventions and geospatial movements across Jacksonville, this study considers the ideologies that informed the museum’s development, the locations that defined its service to Northeast Florida, and the financial conditions that necessitated its eventual rescue by a public university. Environmental Risk Modeling For Heavy Rainfall Events In Jeddah City Between The Years (2000-2025), Amina Atallah Al-Rehaili

This study models the potential environmental risks associated with heavy rainfall events that affected Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, between 2000 and 2025. A descriptive-analytical approach based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was employed to analyze spatial patterns of rainfall and assess their environmental implications. The methodology included a literature review, collection of daily rainfall data, identification of extreme rainfall events, and spatial analysis of rainfall distribution across the city. A suitability model was then developed to determine areas most vulnerable to heavy rainfall hazards. Results indicate that heavy rainfall events and their environmental impacts on residents and property correspond to 70.37% …

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a program based on the use of concept maps in improving descriptive text writing among middle school female students with learning disabilities. The study employed a quasi-experimental methodology using a single-group pre-test and post-test design. The research instruments included a training program and descriptive writing tasks. The study sample consisted of 21 middle school female students with learning disabilities in Riyadh. The results revealed statistically significant differences between the pre-test and post-test in the number of words produced in the descriptive texts, with the post-test showing superior performance. The study aimed to investigate the level of cognitive load among middle school students with learning disabilities in Riyadh and to identify differences in cognitive load levels according to gender (male-female) and grade level (first, second, third). The study adopted a descriptive approach and was conducted on a sample of (80) students with learning disabilities, whose ages ranged from 14 to 16 years. This research investigates the presuppositions inherent in the poetic collection (Diwan) titled "Akadu Arani" (I Almost See Myself) by the poetess, Shaqra al-Madkhali. The study aims to categorize these presuppositions and analyze their functional role in articulating the poetess's intentionality, ultimately facilitating the efficacy of the communicative process. Methodologically, the paper adopts a pragmatic framework complemented by a descriptive-analytical approach. To achieve this aim, the study examines the influence of several demographic and professional variables, including academic rank, gender, years of teaching experience, and the level of training in artificial intelligence. This study investigates the quality of learning disabilities (LD) programs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) from the perspectives of teachers directly involved in their implementation. The study adopts a qualitative research design, utilizing semi-structured interviews conducted with ten teachers of learning disabilities, including five male and five female teachers. The aim of the study is to explore teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of current LD programs, identify key challenges encountered in practice, and highlight areas for improvement. Ideology And Iconography In Gustav Machatý’S Ecstasy (1933), Karl E. Toepfer

This essay discusses the cinematic construction of sexual ecstatic experience in Gustav Machaty's 1933 film Ecstasy. Sergei Eisenstein's theory of cinematic montage governs the shapes the way the filmmakers organize the representation of erotic desire and rapture. But the film also shows affinity with the Czech "Poetist" movement of the 1920s in constructing a guiding view of ecstatic experience. The essay analyzes many images in the film, and concludes with an application of montage theory of ecstatic cinema to the consumption of erotic videos and internet imagery.
