The Pastor As Romantic Author: Ai, Preaching, And The Unacknowledged Inheritance Of Authenticity, Daniel Plate, James Hutson

This article interrogates contemporary reactions to sermons produced with generative technologies through a historical–conceptual lens, arguing that widespread judgments of such outputs as “soulless,” “generic,” or lacking a “beating heart” are best explained by an unacknowledged inheritance from nineteenth-century Romantic expressivism. Rather than treating resistance to machine authorship as a theological verdict on computational incapacity, the study reconstructs how Romanticism centered authorship in sincere self-expression and solitary genius, displacing earlier heraldic expectations that prized fidelity to a received message. Methodologically, the analysis combines intellectual history with discourse analysis of global Christian experiments in synthetic composition (2020–2025), denominational guidance, and media …

The grant would have been used to finance the We Have Always Been Here: Trans Oral History Project (WHABH), which seeks to preserve the stories of transgender individuals living in SE Michigan utilizing the practice of oral history. This paper investigates the negative interactions between humans and animals in Way Kambas National Park of Sumatra, Indonesia, and the prevention and mitigation tactics the community utilizes. The numerous villages surrounding the National Park suffer from elephant activity damaging their farms, while the elephants are frequently harmed by poaching within the park. Participate observations and interviews concluded that the Way Kambas community responds to human-wildlife conflict with a collaborative effort by locals, government park police, and non-governmental organizations to both deter elephant presence outside of the park and poaching activity within the park, as well as to mitigate the negative …

Indonesia is home to the largest diaspora of Chinese people anywhere in the world. Yet, the experiences of Chinese-Indonesians reveal a sustained erasure, discrimination, and pressure to assimilate in the face of political and social tensions. Under Dutch colonial rule, they were placed in a racial hierarchy, placed between Europeans and Indigenous Indonesians, yet excluded from full participation in either group. This structure planted early seeds of mistrust and scapegoating that endured into the post-independence period. The popularization of gangsta rap in the United States was pivotal to the advancement of Black America following the close of the Civil Rights Movement. The ruthlessness of gangsta rap created a distaste of authority that became a catalyst for Black American unity and change. Tunisia and Italy: Politics and Religious Integration in the Mediterranean

This paper examines how the adoption of Western political system models has contributed to democratic backsliding in Tunisia following the 2011 Jasmine Revolution. While Tunisia was internationally celebrated as a democratic success story, this research interrogates the gap between institutional performance and popular legitimacy, drawing on a student survey and a qualitative interview with a civil society organization (CSO) leader. The findings suggest that democratic backslide in Tunisia cannot be reduced to authoritarian ambition alone, but must be understood as a response to institutional systems that failed to deliver stability, economic security, or meaningful participation. This study investigates how gender and social class influence the frequency and motivations for code-switching among young Tunisians. Following the French Protectorate (1881) and subsequent Arabization policies in the late 20th century, Tunisian youth are faced with a complex linguistic environment. This paper posits that the enduring legacies of prestige and gender norms drive variation in the frequency and motivation behind code-switching among Tunisian men and women. Based on a quantitative survey and qualitative interviews, this research examines how these social factors shape the function and meaning of language choice in post-colonial Tunisia. 東周器銘的仿古是立足新的時代語境而模仿古代文辭的一種書寫方式，是在純文本寫作日益佔據主導優勢的情況下，依然仿效“記録一修改”模式的某些特徵的做法。具體而言，仿古主要包括擬辭和擬篇兩個層面。前者是從古老的“詩”“書”類文獻和舊器銘文中採擇詞彙、語法對新文本進行“作舊”處理。後者是在西周器銘常見類型，如册命、訓誥等基本消隱的情況下，重又參照舊文本改寫事實以製作同類銘文。這造就了東周銘體獨特的演變節奏。仿古的主要目的在於利用銘體穩定的文本特性和禮制屬性以彰顯作器者的權力合法性。其影響經由傳世東周文獻的傳導，開啓了秦漢以後長期追求簡古弘深的銘體創作，對銘體傳统的塑造作用是關鍵的。其手法與原因，一定程度上又含有超出東周時代的啓發價值，具有特殊的文體學意義。

The Eastern Zhou Dynasty’s imitation of ancient bronze inscriptions was a way of writing that imitated the ancient languages based on a new era context. It was a practice that disregarded the increasing dominance of pure text writing and imitated features of the “record-modify” mode. It mainly included two levels of practical techniques: imitation of words and imitation of texts. The former involved selecting vocabulary and grammar from documents related to Shi and Shu, as well as inscriptions on old bronzes, to “nake old” the new texts. Peru: Indigenous Peoples and Globalization

This research examines how tourism has transformed the lives of Indigenous women in Huilloc, Peru, specifically through the sale of woven textiles. Through a documentary, the study analyzes how the commercialization of their crafts has expanded the economic opportunities available to the weavers, supporting their financial autonomy. It also explores women’s empowerment, including new gender dynamics, greater independence within the household, and increased recognition from the community. The use of documentary film allows the women's voices to be amplified in their own language and cultural context, reinforcing their capacity and autonomy to narrate their stories from their own perspective.

Quechua is a socially minority language in Perú due to a complex sociopolitical history. With the increase of pride in indigeneity that has characterized recent decades, efforts to revitalize the language have gained increased attention, generating tension between the rural and urban and between peasants and elites. Differing conceptualizations of Quechua directly shape the strategies used for its revalorization; in this essay, I examine oral tradition and written Quechua as two interwoven facets in revitalizing the language. 樊晃《杜工部小集序》談到杜甫晚年“常蓄東遊之志”。從這一記載入手並對照杜甫詩歌可以發現，杜甫晚年確實有再次東遊吳越的計劃。吳越自六朝以來便是神仙思想盛行之地，也成爲道教“同天福地”聚集的區域。杜甫之所以對吳越念念不忘者，除了因有親友在此之外，更爲重要的是受了神仙思想的指引。除了“東遊”杜甫晚年也表達過“南征/南遊”的意圖。“東遊”的目的地是吳越，而“南征”的目的地是武陵桃源（唐朗州，今湖南常德）乃至嶺南。二者雖然目的地不同，但同樣都是爲了求仙問道。江南乃至嶺南一帶，在六朝以來“洞天福地”的道教地理中佔據了重要位置，吸引了包括杜甫在内的道教信徒前來修仙朝聖。歷來讀者更多注意到杜甫的家國情懷，却忽視了神仙思想對杜甫的强大吸引力。運用傳記地理學的方法，可以幫助我們更好地理解杜甫晚年的心跡與行乘，加深對杜甫晚年詩歌的理解。

This thesis seeks to examine the so-called Vienna Diptych (1478/1479) by Hugo van der Goes. The two panels of the diptych have been displayed together since the 19th century, yet difficulties in provenance and the dating of the artist’s oeuvre have resulted in the continued questioning of its intended creation as a single campaign. This research seeks to assert the diptych’s thematic unity through a concentrated analysis of its leading female figures, a vantage point that has not yet been fully addressed in the literature. This thesis examines the interpretations of Lintels 23, 24, and 25 from Yachilán, Drawing 18 from Naj Tunich, and Stela H from Copán, with a specific focus on third gender expression. These artworks depict figures that blend masculine and feminine attributes, from costuming to actions, to present intentionally ambiguous representations of the body that all ancient Maya people would have understood. Third gender expression is defined through the blending of masculine and feminine signifiers. This project investigates how design transparency and player interaction mechanics can enhance emotional connection and strategic depth in competitive digital card game environments. Draft Card Battler transforms traditional sequential turn-based Trading Card Game (TCG) gameplay into a structured round-based system featuring asymmetric card-play patterns (1-2-2-1) and simultaneous combat resolution. Beginning with a physical card game prototype, the project evolved through iterative design and digital implementation, informed by research in social capital theory and player psychology.
