From Sins Of The Cities Of The Plain To Letters From Laura And Eveline: Boulton, Park, And Pornography’S Reaction To Transmisogyny, Daniel Falco Jan 2024

From Sins Of The Cities Of The Plain To Letters From Laura And Eveline: Boulton, Park, And Pornography’S Reaction To Transmisogyny, Daniel Falco

Theses and Dissertations

This thesis builds on the emerging work of scholars who view pornography as literature with sociocultural relevance and adds to trans scholarship through a dissection of gender construction and transmisogyny in a Victorian underground subversive culture. Centering the 1883 erotic novel Letters from Laura and Eveline, I examine how language and biology are unfixed to highlight fluidity within queer sex and gender, and how this helps the novel evade the taxonomical-obsessed era in which it was produced. Psychological Energy: Early Theorists In The Analytical Tradition, Michael Da Jan 2024

G. Jung, Wilhelm Reich, Alexander Lowen, and Roberto Assagioli. The analysis reveals that these theorists generally agreed that psychological energy …

“1000 Acres Of Restricted Land”: The Larger Implications Of Roland Park On Baltimore, From 1891 To The Present, Madison Rose O’Donnell

Theses and Dissertations

This study addresses the circumstances that led to and the long-term consequences of racially exclusive suburban developments in Baltimore City during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In 1891, British investors and urban planners joined together to build the Roland Park District, one of the nation’s first planned suburban neighborhoods to include a racially restrictive covenant. Ideally located on the Chesapeake Bay, Baltimore developed a high-functioning port, which in turn supported westward expansion, progress, industrialization, and immigration. Located just north of Baltimore’s 1888 city limits, which would later expand to absorb Roland Park in 1918, Roland Park was built as an …
