Our abilities as humans—i.e. our powers—aren’t always stable across contexts. In particular, sociocultural contexts can amplify or dampen manifestations of our powers. In particular, the same sociocultural intervention can catalyze a manifestation for one sort of individual and inhibit it for another. We develop these insights within the conceptual framework of causal powers realism: An ontological theory built on the idea that causal influences and processes should ultimately be understood as the manifestation of powers. Developing capacities’ dynamism in this framework enables articulation of novel insights. First, that our psychological capacities are context-sensitive and dynamic all the way down. Second, …

One way to understand the basic semiotic relation is that a sign-vehicle signifies an object to an interpretant. Biosemioticians sometimes talk about this relationship in terms of “codes”. When thinking about this relationship in the context of language, a natural move is to conceptualize semiotic relationships among speakers, meanings, and utterances as codes: speakers encode messages in sentences, which are then decoded by an interpreter. This view of communication is inconsistent with core tenets of a distributed approach to language, which holds that language is an embodied and encultured activity taking place across multiple timescales. 論曹文軒兒童文學作品裏「身體受虐」對兒童本位觀的體現, Qianyi Luo

曹文軒，1954年出生在江蘇省鹽城市，2016年獲得安徒生獎，該獎素有諾貝爾兒童文學獎的美譽。其創作的兒童文學作品有《草房子》、《細米》、《青銅葵花》等，作品善於觀察兒童的生活，用詩意的語言和悲憫情懷展現兒童生活悲傷和苦難的一面。大多學者研究曹文軒作品的語言技巧和主旨思想，或人物形象的塑造，缺乏從創作理念的角度切入論述，亦欠缺人物的身體書寫分析。

本文以曹文軒作品裏的兒童身體受虐為研究對象，以兒童本位觀的創作理念對照分析。第一章為緒論，分別説明本文之寫作緣起、兒童文學領域對兒童本位觀和身體敘事的研究，及本文採用的研究方法；第二章以曹文軒作品中疾病、殘疾和死亡三種身體受虐形式，探討它們如何與兒童本位觀的創作視角、兒童價值和個體意義三個層面相呼應；第三章承接上章從曹文軒作品內部對於身體書寫和兒童本位觀的分析，擴大至各個時期兒童文學對於兒童本位觀的接受——先從五四時期的兒童的發現開始，後闡釋各個時期對於兒童視角和成人視角的選擇。第四章為結論，整合全文中心要點。

伏爾泰《中國孤兒》對中國傳統的重塑, Yuk Na Ying

一七五五年，伏爾泰把紀君祥的元雜劇《趙氏孤兒》改寫為《中國孤兒》，並在劇本中重塑中國傳統。本文剖析《中國孤兒》之劇本，探析伏爾泰對中國傳統重新構建之意涵，並從啟蒙思想角度出發，思考「忠」觀念在當今社會的意涵和效用。本文指出，伏爾泰改編《趙氏孤兒》的出發點是為了匡正當時法國腐敗墮落的政冶風俗。他借鑒中國文化的可取之處，結合本人的思想哲學，並對中國傳統加以重塑，其目的是為了宣揚啟蒙思想。本文並指出在現今社會，傳統「忠」觀念應以理性主義為準繩，才能與時並進，發揮最大效用。

淺析余華90年代長篇小說的小人物書寫 : 以《在細雨中呼喊》、《活著》和《許三觀賣血記》為例, Shurou Guan

「小人物」是余華小說中的重要核心，他們樸素而鮮活，充滿旺盛的生命力。在他的筆下，小人物具有迥然不同的生命形態和個性表達，這些書中人物無疑體現作家的情感以及展露其精神走向，透出對社會的人文關懷。

本文選取並討論余華90年代的三篇長篇小說《細雨中呼喊》、《活著》和《許三觀賣血記》，並探討小說中的小人物書寫。文章分四部分：引言部分簡略介紹余華，然後闡述論文研究背景、方法及概況；正文部分主要介紹小人物在文學上的重要性，以及所選三部作品中小人物的特點；之後重點分析余華筆下的小人物之形象轉變，以及探討余華三部作品如何善用不同的視角達到寫作目的，來呈現作品的人物角力之轉變，最後總結全文。

Chinese Language Education In Thai Social Context: A Case Study Of Chinese Language Teaching At Debsirin School, Bangkok, Ludan Cao

This research investigates the factors affecting Matthayom Sueksa 1-3 (grade 7-9) students' attitudes towards learning Chinese language in the English Program of Debsirin School in Thailand. In this study, questionnaires were used to collect data from 60 students in those mentioned classed. The results show that there are both internal factors and external factors that affect students' attitudes. In terms of internal factors, students' interests, risk appetite, and awareness of the importance of Chinese language have a significant impact on their attitude towards learning Chinese language.
