The Almohad (1120-1269) displaced the Almoravid dynasty (1040-1147) as the rulers of the Maghreb and Andalusia in 1147 and created the largest Berber kingdom in history. They conquered the first indigenous rulers of the Maghreb by aggregating the Masmuda tribes from the High Atlas Mountains and enlisting the Zenata and Arab tribes from the Northern Maghreb. The Almohad rule built upon the existing Almoravid infrastructure; however, their cultural, administrative, and military approach entailed a more integrated tribal organization, centralized authority, and an original Islamic ideology. This article shows how Pierre Hadot’s idea of philosophy as a way of life can be applied to Confucian philosophy. Specifically I will show how the philosophy of the Confucian thinker Mencius has two characteristics that are indicative of a philosophy that is a way of life. For Hadot, Ancient Greco-Roman philosophical schools were mainly concerned, not with philosophical discourse, but with changing their students’ way of living. Based on Mencius’ own words, it can be inferred that he also believed that his philosophizing was mainly about transforming people, and that he treated philosophical discourse as ancillary to this. Autoethnographies are an effective methodology for investigating mothering in the academy as they can allow researchers to explore their individual experiences of work/life balance struggles to shed light into wider social issues, such as academia’s accelerated time. This autoethnography includes five vignettes that describe the challenges of mothering in the academy. These vignettes depict some of the issues faced by mothers working on insecure academic contracts, the impact of accelerated academic time on mothering and the value of finding a supportive community of women to find new stories about motherhood in academia. This study aims to investigate the impact of the inflow of foreign direct Investment on foreign reserves in Jordan during the period (1980-2015). The results show that the variables are not stationary in their levels, whereas their first differences are stationary. Engel-Granger methodology was applied for testing the existence of co-integration among the variables. The fully modified ordinary least squares (FMOLS), were applied for the regression. The results have shown that the inflow of foreign direct investment has a positive impact on foreign reserves in Jordan

Furthermore, she discussed thinking, contemplation and synonyms of contemplation quoting holy Quran verses to prove the holy Quran approach in developing contemplation. The researcher examined also the mechanism of applying this approach to the social raising of the individual through family, school, and society. This study investigated epistemological knowledge of Grade 8 Jordanian mathematics teachers in terms of mathematical knowledge, assessment knowledge, and pedagogical knowledge. It also explored differences in performance among teachers in the three domains of epistemological knowledge due to gender and qualification. The study sample consisted of 146 teachers distributed on three degrees: bachelor, diploma and master. A 30-item test was developed by the researcher to assess teachers' mathematical knowledge, assessment knowledge and pedagogical knowledge. Results revealed that teachers’ performance on mathematical knowledge was medium, while their performance on assessment knowledge was low. Their performance on pedagogical knowledge was the lowest. …

This study was conducted to find out the level of geometric thinking according to Van Hiele's Model (VHM) for Classroom Teacher Students at Isra University in Jordan. A total of (55) students participated in the study (20 males and 35 females). The study utilized geometric thinking test. The findings showed that the higheset average was for visual level with high percent (80%), while the total level of geometric thinking was intermediate. This qualitative study explores the pragmatic functions of ritual refusal as used in Palestinian Society. The significance of this paper rises from the fact that it attempts to highlight potential causes of pragmatic failure and breakdown in cross-cultural communication. Brown and Levinson’s (1987) and Leech’s (1983) models of linguistic politeness are considered as a theoretical framework of the study.
