According to Christopher Bennett, Dayton provided a “balance of terror,” was full of unrealistic deadlines, and aimed at providing internationals with an exit strategy (81) and international involvement constantly suffered from an “enforcement gap” (110) derived from the contradiction between trusteeship and democracy as well as limited resources (114). The book might be more aptly titled The Conceptual Construction of Salafism as its most illuminating and insightful features focus more on linguistics and heuristic devices rather than history or political developments. Through detailed analysis of language, religion, history, and politics, Lauzière shows how Salafism, as it is understood today, represents a misunderstood construction that is often portrayed back into history onto primary sources. Perhaps the most important parts of the text help the reader “unlearn.”

The Plumber, an Australian film by director Peter Weir, is an exploration of different characters from diverse backgrounds thrown together in an awkward and challenging situation. It manages to play on audience’s biases about the working class. The director succeeds in is giving us is a Hitchcockian exploration of clashing socio-educational-economical forces, and straddles the line between value judgement and simple interpersonal experiment.

自梁啟超宣導“小説界革命”後，小説的地位驟然上升，報刊這一新傳播方式的出現，更有力地推動了小説的發展，人們的閲讀熱情也相應高漲。刊載小説可擴大報刊銷量，但當創作落後於傳播的發展時，許多報刊都面臨稿源不足的問題，轉載其他報刊上作品的現象由此而産生。本文以編年體展現了報刊小説轉載現象的萌生與逐步蔓延，其中涉及轉載的作品、報刊、各種廣告與告白，以及與之相關的各種事件。由於是按時序排列，轉載現象發展態勢顯示得較爲清晰，可供近代報刊小説研究者參考。

詩歌創作中“理”的價值如何？應該是什麽樣的形態？本文主張，詩中不惟可以言理，而且詩中之理應該有著獨特的本質特徵和審美規律。王夫之提出的“神理”，似乎可以作爲詩中之“理”的理想形態。“神理”的内涵，當然不同於一般的邏輯概念，不同於理論形式，甚至與錢鍾書在《談藝録》中所描述的“理趣”也並非完全相同。“神理”主要不是指其在詩歌篇什中的實體性質，而是指詩人與物象“心目相取”的意向性活動。從主體角度而言，“妙悟”是詩人獲致“神理”的基本思維方式。“妙悟”源於佛學，指參證佛教終極真理的直覺思維。而終極真理的特徵即是不可分性。後來詩論家嚴羽以“妙悟”爲詩學思維的根本，同時認爲詩歌創作是不能通過“理路”即邏輯思維方式進行的。至王夫之、葉燮則正面揭示了“理”在詩歌中存在的合理性，在詩中不僅可以有“理”，而且有最爲重要的價值。“神理”是“妙悟”的内涵與對象，“妙悟”是“神理”的思維方式。

Even though there is a notion of a birth dearth, this text aims at debunking the common belief that a population that is not growing due to declining fertility spells disaster for our world. The population has declined over time, but in reality the world continues to add 83 million people each year. As more and more online versions of Humanities texts are created, it is becoming commonplace to embed elaborate formatting, for example, through the use of HTML. But this can interfere with computerized analyses of the original text. While it may seem, at first, straightforward to simply strip markup from text, this is not the reality. Many digital texts add things that appear to be legitimate content according to the markup syntax, for example, line numbers, and even apart from this issue, existing tools for stripping markup produce inconsistent results.
