The femme fatale, a quasi-eternal figure of female transgression and retributory violence, has gradually entered popular culture’s symbolic lexicon as representative of mainstream feminism and postmodern femininity. Tracing the development of the femme fatale into a feminist pop culture icon necessitates establishing her sociopolitical status in the late modern era through her presence in Victorian sensational literature. The femme’s translation from the Victorian context to the American mediascape presages her evolving presence in three cinematic eras: classic film noir, neo-conservative retro noir, and millennial neo-noir. This study focused on the lived experiences of four German women who immigrated to Western Australia between 1945 and 1973. In 1945 post-WWII European migrants were permitted to immigrate to Australia for the first time since Federation and the introduction of the White Australia policy in 1901. 1973 signified the end of the White Australia policy and the beginning of establishing equality for migrants in Australia. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษากระบวนการผลิตน้ำตาลโตนด อันเป็นแนวคิดเพื่อสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทางดุริยางคศิลป์ ชุด ตาลเมืองเพชร ผู้วิจัยได้ทำการศึกษากระบวนการผลิตน้ำตาลโตนดจากสวนตาลลุงถนอม ภู่เงิน ซึ่งนับว่าเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้ภูมิปัญญาตาลโตนดแหล่งสำคัญของจังหวัดเพชรบุรี ทั้งนี้ ผู้วิจัยได้ใช้วิธีการดำเนินการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพและการวิจัยเชิงสร้างสรรค์ในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานในครั้งนี้ การสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทางดุริยางคศิลป์ ชุด ตาลเมืองเพชร ได้แนวคิดจากกระบวนการผลิตน้ำตาลโตนด 5 ขั้นตอนหลัก คือ 1) การพาดตาล 2) การนวดตาล 3) การปาดตาล 4) การรองตาล 5) การเคี่ยวตาล การสร้างสรรค์ผลงานนี้ เป็นการประพันธ์เพลงในรูปแบบของเพลงชุด ประกอบด้วยเพลงหลัก 5 เพลง คือ 1) เพลงพาดตาล 2) เพลงนวดตาล 3) เพลงปาดตาล 4) เพลงรองตาล 5) เพลงเคี่ยวตาล และเพลงเชื่อมตาลสำหรับบรรเลงเชื่อมเพลงหลัก 1 เพลง โดยรูปแบบของการจัดแสดงผลงานสร้างสรรค์ทางด้านดุริยางคศิลป์ เป็นการบรรเลงดนตรีไทยด้วยวงปี่พาทย์ไม้แข็ง (พิเศษ) ประกอบการฉายสไลด์ โดยใช้โทนชาตรีและกลองชาตรีกำกับจังหวะหน้าทับ ทั้งนี้ได้กำหนดจังหวะหน้าทับและอัตราจังหวะฉิ่งขึ้นใหม่ ประกอบด้วย หน้าทับโทนชาตรี 6 รูปแบบ วิธีการบรรเลงกลองชาตรี 4 รูปแบบ อัตราจังหวะฉิ่ง 5 รูปแบบ ในส่วนของบทเพลงนั้นเป็นการประพันธ์ขึ้นใหม่ โดยมิได้อาศัยเค้าโครงจากเพลงอื่นใดที่มีในขนบประเพณีของดนตรีไทยในการประพันธ์ งานวิจัยนี้เป็นการรวบรวมองค์ความรู้เพื่อสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทางดุริยางคศิลป์ ผนวกกับองค์ความรู้ในศาสตร์แขนงต่าง ๆ เพื่อพัฒนาต่อยอดและเป็นแนวทางสำคัญในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทางดุริยางคศิลป์ ตลอดจนสืบทอดมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมและสะท้อนภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นของชาวเพชรบุรีสืบต่อไป

บทประพันธ์เพลงดุษฎีนิพนธ์ จิตรกรรมเพลงภาพชีวิต ประสิทธิ์ ศิลปบรรเลง เป็นบทเพลง สำหรับเครื่องเดี่ยวปี่และโคโตะ บรรเลงร่วมกับวงดนตรีเชมเบอร์และวงวินด์ซิมโฟนี ประพันธ์ขึ้นเพื่อสร้างสรรค์บทเพลงร่วมสมัยที่บูรณาการแนวคิดการประพันธ์ของดนตรีตะวันตกเข้ากับวัฒนธรรมดนตรีไทยและดนตรีญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวความประทับใจที่เกิดขึ้นจากชีวประวัติของอาจารย์ประสิทธิ์ ศิลปบรรเลง (ค.ศ. 1912-1999) ศิลปินแห่งชาติ สาขาศิลปะการแสดง (นักแต่งเพลง) ผู้มีความสามารถทั้งทางด้านดนตรีไทยและดนตรีตะวันตก บทประพันธ์เพลงดุษฎีนิพนธ์ชิ้นนี้มี 3 กระบวน ได้แก่กระบวนที่ 1 "วังบูรพาภิรมย์" สำหรับปี่ บรรเลงเดี่ยวกับวงออกเท็ต บรรยายถึงหลวงประดิษฐไพเราะ (ศร ศิลปบรรเลง) บิดาของอาจารย์ประสิทธิ์ ผู้วางรากฐานให้อาจารย์ประสิทธิ์ได้เดินบนเส้นทางสายดนตรี, กระบวนที่ 2 "โตเกียวองงากุกักโก" สำหรับโคโตะ บรรเลงเดี่ยวกับวงสตริงควินเท็ต บรรยายช่วงชีวิตของอาจารย์ประสิทธิ์ขณะไปศึกษาต่อที่ประเทศญี่ปุ่น และกระบวนที่ 3 "บ้านบาตร" สำหรับปี่ในและโคโตะ บรรเลงเดี่ยวกับวงวินด์ซิมโฟนี บรรยายถึงช่วงชีวิตการทำงานของอาจารย์ประสิทธิ์หลังกลับจากประเทศญี่ปุ่น บทเพลงนี้มีความยาวประมาณ 35 นาที แต่ละกระบวนมีสังคีตลักษณ์แบบ 3 ตอน ประพันธ์ด้วยระบบดนตรีที่มีศูนย์กลางเสียง มีการใช้บันไดเสียงเฉพาะที่แทนลักษณะของดนตรีไทยและดนตรีญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งเป็นการต่อยอดพัฒนาการการประพันธ์ดนตรีร่วมสมัยที่มีอิทธิพลทางวัฒนธรรมจากดนตรีไทยและดนตรีญี่ปุ่นเข้ากับดนตรีตะวันตก มีคุณค่าทั้งในแง่สุนทรียศาสตร์และในเชิงวิชาการ คำสำคัญ: จิตรกรรมเพลงภาพชีวิต ประสิทธิ์ ศิลปบรรเลง / ปี่ / โคโตะ / วงดนตรีเชมเบอร์ / วงออกเท็ต / วงสตริงควินเท็ต / วงวินด์ซิมโฟนี

การแสดงคลาริเน็ตในวิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้เป็นการพัฒนาทักษะในการบรรเลงคลาริเน็ต โดยผู้วิจัยได้คัดเลือกบทเพลงคลาสสิกที่ประพันธ์ขึ้นสำหรับคลาริเน็ตจากรูปแบบการนำเสนอและรูปแบบการประพันธ์ที่แตกต่างกัน ซึ่งเป็นบทเพลงระดับมาตรฐานสากลที่ใช้ในระดับปริญญาดุษฎีบัณฑิตทั่วโลก วิจัยได้ศึกษาทั้งด้านประวัติของผู้ประพันธ์ การวิเคราะห์บทเพลง และวิธีการบรรเลง โดยในการแสดงเดี่ยวคลาริเน็ตนี้ผู้วิจัยได้คัดเลือกกลุ่มบทเพลงในการแสดงทั้ง 3 ครั้งดังนี้ 1. การบรรยายประกอบการบรรเลงคลาริเน็ต ในบทเพลงดนตรีเชมเบอร์สําหรับคลาริเน็ตและกลุ่มเครื่องดนตรี (การแสดงในครั้งนี้ใช้เวลารวมประมาณ 75 นาที) 2. การบรรยายประกอบการบรรเลงคลาริเน็ต ในบทเพลงยุคศตวรรษที่ 20 ถึงดนตรียุคใหม่โดยผลงานการประพันธ์เพลงที่ได้รับอิทธิพลจากดนตรีแจ๊ส (การแสดงในครั้งนี้ใช้เวลารวมประมาณ 75 นาที) 3. การบรรยายประกอบการบรรเลงคลาริเน็ต ในบทเพลงสําหรับคลาริเน็ตที่ประพันธ์โดยนักประพันธ์เพลงชาวไทย (การแสดงในครั้งนี้ใช้เวลารวมประมาณ 75 นาที)

ลัทธิพิธีบูชาพระพรหมในสังคมไทยร่วมสมัย : พลวัตของตำนาน ความเชื่อ และพิธีกรรม, อภิวัฒน์ สุธรรมดี

วิทยานิพนธ์เล่มนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาลัทธิพิธีบูชาพระพรหมและการประดิษฐ์สร้างลัทธิพิธีบูชาพระพรหมในสังคมไทยร่วมสมัย ผู้วิจัยเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนามในช่วง พ.ศ.2556-2560 ในพื้นที่ที่ปรากฏลัทธิพิธีบูชาพระพรหม ได้แก่ กรุงเทพมหานคร ปทุมธานี สิงห์บุรี ร้อยเอ็ด และประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ความเชื่อพระพรหมดำรงอยู่ในวัฒนธรรมไทยมายาวนาน ตำนานเรื่องเล่าพระพรหมในสังคมไทยส่วนใหญ่อิงอยู่กับศาสนาพุทธ มีลักษณะที่ปรากฏอยู่แต่ไม่โดดเด่น คือ เป็นเทวดาชั้นสูงแต่มีบทบาทเป็นรองพระพุทธเจ้าและเกี่ยวข้องกับเรื่องทางธรรม เมื่อ พ.ศ.2499 กลุ่มนักการเมืองได้นำรากความเชื่อพระพรหมมาปรุงแต่ง แล้วสร้างเป็นพระพรหมเอราวัณ เรื่องราวความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของพระพรหมเอราวัณเล่ากันอย่างแพร่หลายในสื่อสมัยใหม่ เกิดเป็นความนิยมบูชาพระพรหมขึ้นในสังคมเมืองแล้วกลายเป็นลัทธิพิธีบูชาพระพรหมทำให้ "พระพรหม" ซึ่งเป็นเทพเจ้าชั้นสูงที่มีบทบาทอยู่แต่ในศาสนาลงมาเกี่ยวข้องกับมนุษย์ในเรื่องทางโลกมากขึ้น ลัทธิพิธีนี้ได้แพร่กระจายไปยังภูมิภาค แต่ละที่ได้ประดิษฐ์สร้างพิธีบูชาพระพรหมขึ้น พิธีบูชาพระพรหมที่จัดขึ้นมีองค์ประกอบแตกต่างกันเพราะมี 'ที่มา' ต่างกัน สัญลักษณ์ในพิธีกรรมปรากฏอย่างหลากหลาย ทำให้ลัทธิพิธีบูชาพระพรหมเกิดความสมจริง และสร้างความศรัทธาจากผู้เคารพบูชา นอกจากนี้ยังมีสัญลักษณ์ชุดอื่น ๆ อันแสดงถึงการผนวกรวมความเชื่อต่าง ๆ ในวัฒนธรรมไทย ซึ่งสัมพันธ์กับวัตถุประสงค์ของผู้จัดงาน สัญลักษณ์ในลัทธิพิธีบูชา พระพรหมสื่อว่าพระพรหมเป็นตัวแทนความดีงามและเป็นตัวแทนคนในวัฒนธรรมเมือง อีกทั้งยังสะท้อนการผสมผสานลัทธิความเชื่อต่าง ๆ ในวัฒนธรรมไทยเพื่อให้คนเมืองมี "จุดร่วม" ทางความเชื่อ ลัทธิพิธีบูชาพระพรหมมีพลวัตทั้งด้านตำนานเรื่องเล่า ความเชื่อ และพิธีกรรม คุณสมบัติที่หลากหลาย ภาพลักษณ์ที่สื่อด้านดี ทำให้คนร่วมสมัยนำความเชื่อพระพรหมมาปรุงแต่งเพื่อรับใช้สังคมปัจจุบัน ลัทธิพิธีบูชาพระพรหมเป็น'ลัทธิคนในวัฒนธรรมเมือง' เกิดขึ้นเพื่อตอบสนองคนเมืองซึ่งมีวิถีชีวิตและความปรารถนาอันซับซ้อน ลัทธิพิธีนี้เป็นทุนวัฒนธรรมที่นำมาสร้างจุดขายและส่งออกไปสู่สากลได้

วิเคราะห์ทางขับร้องเพลงละครและเพลงหน้าพาทย์บทคอนเสิร์ต ตับนางลอย บ้านพาทยโกศล โดยครูอุษา แสงไพโรจน์, ปริญญา ทัศนมาศ

งานวิจัยเรื่อง วิเคราะห์ทางขับร้องเพลงละครและเพลงหน้าพาทย์บทคอนเสิร์ต ตับนางลอย บ้านพาทยโกศล โดยครูอุษา แสงไพโรจน์ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษามูลบทที่เกี่ยวข้องและวิธีการขับร้องเพลงละครและเพลงหน้าพาทย์บทคอนเสิร์ต ตับนางลอยบ้านพาทยโกศล โดยครูอุษา แสงไพโรจน์ ผู้วิจัยได้ทำการเลือกศึกษาเพลงจำนวน 8 เพลง ได้แก่ เพลงโอ้ชาตรี เพลงโอ้โลมใน เพลงโอ้ปี่ใน เพลงช้าปี่ใน เพลงโลมนอก เพลงโล้ เพลงเชิดฉิ่ง และเพลงเชิดนอก ซึ่งผลการศึกษาสามารถสรุปได้ดังนี้ ทางขับร้องเพลงบทคอนเสิร์ตตับนางลอยมีต้นกำเนิดมาตั้งแต่สมัยรัชกาลที่ 5 โดยนางเจริญ พาทยโกศล เป็นผู้ขับร้องคนแรกและเป็นผู้ถ่ายทอดวิธีการขับร้องให้คุณหญิงไพฑูรย์ กิตติ-วรรณ และครูอุษา แสงไพโรจน์ ผู้รับช่วงวิธีการขับร้องเป็นรุ่นที่ 3 จากการศึกษาทางขับร้องทั้ง 8 เพลงพบว่าทุกเพลงใช้กลุ่มเสียงทางเพียงออล่างเป็นหลัก มีการกำกับจังหวะที่สามารถแบ่งออกได้เป็น 2 แบบ คือ การกำกับเพลงที่มีจังหวะควบคุมและการกำกับเพลงที่มีจังหวะลอย พบสังคีตลักษณ์ที่สามารถแบ่งได้เป็น 3 แบบ คือ การขับร้องที่มีดนตรีรับ การขับร้องที่มีดนตรีแทรกกลางคำร้อง และการขับร้องพร้อมกับการบรรเลงดนตรี วิธีการขับร้องที่ถือเป็นเอกลักษณ์ คือ การขับร้องแบบไม่ปั้นคำ เป็นการออกเสียงพยางค์เดี่ยวแบบตรงเสียงไม่มีการปรุงแต่งเสียง และพบกลวิธีการขับร้องทั้งหมด 10 กลวิธี คือ การครั่นเสียง การปั้นคำ การกระทบ-เสียง การผันเสียงลง การผันเสียงขึ้น การใช้หางเสียง การตวัดเสียง การกดเสียง การเหินเสียง และการกลึงเสียง กลวิธีที่ใช้มากที่สุดคือ การครั่นเสียง มีทั้งการครั่นเสียงในเอื้อน การครั่นเสียงในคำร้อง และกลวิธีการขับร้องที่มีเฉพาะเพลง คือ การกลึงเสียง พบในเพลงช้าปี่ในเท่านั้น ส่วนวิธีการขับร้องที่มีช่วงการเอื้อนเป็นทำนองโดยใช้ลมหายใจเดียว คือ เพลงเชิดนอก

การแสดงเดี่ยวขับร้องคลาสสิกครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาทักษะและศักยภาพทางด้านการขับร้องคลาสสิก ทั้งด้านการฝึกซ้อม การตีความ การวิเคราะห์และศึกษาค้นคว้าข้อมูลของบทเพลง รวมถึงการดำเนินงานการจัดแสดง โดยผู้แสดงได้คัดเลือกบทเพลงในยุคเดียวกัน เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นถึงความคล้ายคลึง และความแตกต่างของดนตรีในช่วงต้นศตวรรษที่ 20 ของผู้ประพันธ์แต่ละคน ได้แก่ Joseph Maurice Ravel (1875 – 1937) Francis Jean Marcel Poulenc (1899 – 1963) Edward Benjamin Britten (1913 – 1976) และ George Jacob Gershwin (1898 – 1937) การแสดงเดี่ยวขับร้องคลาสสิกในครั้งนี้ ผู้แสดงได้คัดเลือกบทเพลงทั้งหมด 14 บทเพลง แบ่งออกเป็นชุดเพลงร้อง และบทเพลงอาเรียจากอุปรากรได้แก่ เพลงชุดที่ (1.) การแสดงเดี่ยวไวโอลินในครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและค้นคว้าข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับบทเพลงที่ใช้แสดงไวโอลินประกอบด้วยการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับผู้ประพันธ์ในด้านชีวประวัติ ด้านการประพันธ์เพลงและแรงบันดาลใจในการประพันธ์เพลงของผู้ประพันธ์ การตีความบทเพลง เปรียบเทียบการตีความในบทเพลงของนักแสดงไวโอลินต่างๆ ศึกษาแนวความคิดและเทคนิคการบรรเลง และวิเคราะห์ในบทเพลงเพื่อให้เป็นประโยชน์ในการฝึกซ้อม การเตรียมตัวสำหรับการแสดงและรวมถึงการจัดการแสดง การแสดงเดี่ยวไวโอลินได้คัดเลือกบทเพลงบรรเลง 4 บทเพลง จากการประพันธ์ของนักประพันธ์เพลงที่มีชื่อเสียงและได้ประพันธ์ผลงานอันทรงคุณค่าไว้รวมทั้งหมด 3 ยุค ได้แก่ (1) Violin sonata no.1 in A minor, Op.105 ประพันธ์โดย Robert Schumann (2) Sonatas for solo Violin no.3 in D minor, Op.27 (Ballade) ประพันธ์โดย Eugene Esaye (3) Violin Concerto in D major, Op.61 ประพันธ์โดย Lugwig Van Beethoven (4) Cantabile for Violin and Piano in D major, Op.17 ประพันธ์โดย Niccolo Paganini การแสดงเดี่ยวไวโอลินในครั้งนี้กำหนดจัดการแสดงในวันที่ 4 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2561 เริ่มการแสดงเวลา 14.00 น. ณ ห้อง Recital hall ชั้น 3 คณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย รวมเวลาที่ใช้ในการแสดง 1 ชั่วโมง 30 นาที

การสูญเสียอิทธิพลของพม่าในล้านนาช่วงปลายพุทธศตวรรษที่ 23 นำไปสู่สภาวะสุญญากาศในพื้นที่ต่างๆของล้านนา ซึ่งเปิดโอกาสให้เจ้าผู้ปกครองท้องถิ่นตามเมืองขนาดใหญ่ต่างๆสามารถสั่งสมอำนาจของตนและสถาปนาความเป็นรัฐขึ้นปกครองตนเองขึ้นมาในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าวได้ น่านในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าวอยู่ภายใต้การปกครองของคนในตระกูลหลวงติ๋น ซึ่งประสบความสำเร็จในการสถาปนาความเป็นรัฐของตนให้เป็นเอกเทศจากหน่วยการเมืองอื่นๆในล้านนาได้สำเร็จในช่วงต้นพุทธศตวรรษที่ 24 อย่างไรก็ตาม รัฐน่านในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าวอยู่ในสภาพเสียหายจากสงครามในช่วงเวลาก่อนหน้า และตกอยู่ในความไม่มั่นคงของการเมืองระหว่างภูมิภาค ทำให้เจ้าผู้ปกครองน่านตระกูลหลวงติ๋นในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าวจำเป็นต้องดำเนินนโยบายต่างๆเพื่อสร้างความมั่นคงให้กับสถานะความเป็นเจ้าผู้ปกครองของตนและสถานะความเป็นรัฐของน่าน วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษา สาเหตุ กระบวนการ และผลของการฟื้นฟูความเป็นรัฐแบบจารีตของน่านในช่วงเวลา ระหว่าง พ.ศ. 2329-2442 โดยเน้นสำรวจแนวคิดและวิธีปฏิบัติของผู้ปกครองในราชวงศ์หลวงติ๋นที่ส่งผลต่อการฟื้นฟูสถานะความเป็นรัฐ ซึ่งพบว่า เจ้าผู้ปกครองในราชวงศ์หลวงติ๋นใช้นโยบายในสร้างความยอมรับจากภายนอก ใช้นโยบายกระจายอำนาจบริหารและสร้างภาพความเป็นศูนย์กลางในการสร้างความยอมรับจากภายใน และใช้นโยบายอิงอำนาจกับสยามเพื่อให้ได้รับการค้ำประกันทางอำนาจ นโยบายดังกล่าวเหล่านี้ทำให้เจ้าผู้ปกครองน่านราชวงศ์หลวงติ๋นประสบความสำเร็จในการประคับประคองสถานะความเป็นรัฐของตนไปได้จนกระทั่งถึงช่วงสุดท้ายของรัฐจารีต เมื่อมีการปฏิรูปการปกครองโดยสยาม ใน พ.ศ. 2442

ปริจเฉทการพูดของมัคนายกมีลักษณะเด่นเฉพาะตัวและมัคนายกใช้กลวิธีทางภาษา ที่หลากหลายเพื่อโน้มน้าวใจให้คนร่วมบริจาคเงินทำบุญ งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์ องค์ประกอบการสื่อสารและกลวิธีทางภาษาในการโน้มน้าวใจในปริจเฉทการพูดของมัคนายก วัดพระอารามหลวง จังหวัดนครปฐม โดยใช้แนวคิดชาติพันธุ์วรรณนาแห่งการสื่อสารของไฮมส์ (Hymes, 1974) ข้อมูลมาจากการบันทึกเสียงการพูดสดของมัคนายกของวัดพระปฐมเจดีย์ ราชวรมหาวิหาร วัดพระงาม พระอารามหลวง และวัดไร่ขิง พระอารามหลวง จังหวัดนครปฐม การสัมภาษณ์มัคนายก การสัมภาษณ์ผู้ทำบุญ และการสังเกตการณ์อย่างมีส่วนร่วม ได้ข้อมูลจำนวน ทั้งสิ้น 35 ปริจเฉท ผลการวิจัยพบว่าองค์ประกอบการสื่อสารที่สำคัญในปริจเฉทการพูดของมัคนายก ในวัดพระอารามหลวง จังหวัดนครปฐม ได้แก่ ฉาก ผู้ร่วมเหตุการณ์ จุดมุ่งหมาย และบรรทัดฐานของ การปฏิสัมพันธ์และการตีความ ส่วนกลวิธีทางภาษาที่ใช้เพื่อการโน้มน้าวใจจำแนกได้เป็น 3 กลวิธีใหญ่ ได้แก่ กลุ่มกลวิธีการสร้างปฏิสัมพันธ์กับผู้ฟัง กลุ่มกลวิธีการบอกความสำคัญของกองบุญ และกลุ่มกลวิธีการกระตุ้นผู้ฟัง

Dancers are susceptible to overuse foot and ankle injuries, however there is a lack biomechanical studies examining foot mechanics to explain the causality of these injuries. The purpose of this study was to determine the intra and inter-assessor repeatability of a modified Rizzoli Foot Model (RFM) for ballet dancers.

Methods: Six university-level ballet dancers performed the following trials in randomized order, natural stance, turnout plié and stance, and two dynamic trials; turnout rise and flex-point-flex movement. Functional turnout in ballet involves maximal external rotation through the lower limb kinetic chain. Hip external rotation, is considered the primary contributor of functional turnout. However, dancers will tend to increase their functional turnout angle through additional tibiofemoral external rotation and pronation of the foot/ankle complex. Hip external rotation measures in functional turnout has received extensive examination in dance science. However, the relationship between the ‘below the hip' assessments with functional turnout is poorly understood. We hypothesis that dancers with greater passive external tibiofemoral rotation (pTFR) and/or pronated stance will have a greater functional turnout angle.

This thesis explores the spatial organization and public art of Kyiv’s Independence Square to address broader social and political realities after the Maidan protests of 2013-14. Using theories of power and ideology, this study demonstrates how the discourse on public art reflects the political situation of post-revolutionary Ukraine, and how public engagement with urban space signals a paradigmatic shift in the developing country’s process of self-identification.
