The program for November 16-17, 2017 featured guest composer Judith Shatlin, he William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor at the University of Virginia. Ms. Shatin also founded the Virginia Center for Computer Music. Her music has been commissioned by organizations including Carnegie Hall and the National Endowment for the Arts.

5. Ode On A Grecian Urn”: A Dialogue Between Husserl’S Transcendental Subject And Heidegger’S ‘Being’., Maha M. Munib Abdelmotaleb
English Language and Literature
The aim of this article is to discuss Edmund Husserl’s transcendental subjectivity and Martin Heidegger’s Being through a literary work that could prove that the two philosophers are not direct opponents. Both transcendental subjectivity and Being are part of a larger project about phenomenology. The two philosophers’ key concepts about subjectivity, Being and the human experience are the theoretical framework for an analysis of John Keats’s “Ode On a Grecian Urn” in an attempt to integrate two seemingly opposing philosophies to prove that there is room for a dialogue between the two philosophies. The novel Jane Eyre was originally published as an autobiography by Charlotte Brontë, under the pseudonym Currer Bell. The heroine of this novel is widely celebrated as a proponent of feminist ideals, and as such, this paper is designed to examine the role of the patriarchy in Victorian English through the novel. The focus of this inquiry is the importance of the “father figure,” for young women, as means of protection, developing social identities, and securing, financially, a future. Mistreated & Misremembered: A Tale Of Two Annes, Elizabeth H. Dunn

The two poems and historical notes that I worked on were a part of my interest in both history and poetry, especially since many historical figures remain misunderstood, ignored, or misinterpreted. Throughout my research I tried to find a personal voice for all of the subjects within the poems, Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, and Anne of Cleves. Though the poetic form gave me creative freedom, I did want to approach each name as more than just a reputation, but as a person.
