"The Backlash of WWII Fears" by Katelyn Shykes
Abstract: Powerful and radical racism on the California coast that was brought roughly around the same time that WWII anxiety had been brought closer to America, is what led to the harsh and inaccurate punishment that many Japanese-Americans faced after the bombing of Pearl harbor. Japanese-Americans were targeted and left stranded in a nation that now viewed them as a threat. As the only means of dealing with this reality, many Japanese-Americans who were once deemed trusted citizens were stripped of that privilege for no other reason than their race …

Measuring Quality Of Life For Shanghai’S Floating Population Employed In Urban Renewal Sites, Jacob A. Watkins, Gregory Veeck
Research and Creative Activities Poster Day
Chinese internal migrants continue to struggle to obtain social and economic equity in some of China’s largest cities. Shanghai, China’s largest city, houses one of the largest floating populations in the country. As city officials and the CPC continue to spend on urban renewal sites in the city proper, new opportunities may be emerging for migrant workers. These sites contain hundreds on new commercial and service based businesses that could potentially provide stable employment for rural-to-urban migrants in Shanghai and influence migrant quality of life as well as provide the means for migrants to remain in the city long-term. Civil War Era Studies Faculty Publications

Instead, he has been stymied and embarrassed by resistance from a federal judiciary that has twice halted executive orders on the most prominent issue of his presidential campaign. So, will the federal judiciary become the wall against which Trump bleeds away the power not just of his own presidency but of the “imperial …

Depression, Religiosity, And Parenting Styles Among Mormon Adolescents, Courtney Kinneard, Mark Ogletree
FHSS Mentored Research Conference
We examined how religiosity and the parent-child relationship are associated with depression in 12-14 yr old teenagers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. A random sample of 493 revealed three correlations: girls who have a strong connection with their mother have a negative correlation with depression; daily spiritual experiences are negatively correlated with depression, and negative religious coping is positively correlated with depression symptoms.
