This study focuses on the labor market and Mexican-Americans in the United States. I use peer reviewed sources to fully examine and determine the fairness of labor laws protecting this population. Additionally, the study provides an in depth analysis of unfair labor practices and a comparison of the types of jobs and location in the United States affecting the Mexican-American population in the labor market. My intended audience are those unaware of unfair labor practices who want labor wages to be fair for every working citizen in the U.S., and not be discriminated based on ethnicity/race. The focus of this project thesis is maternal subjectivity in contemporary art. Despite the embedded theme of mother and child in the history of Western art, the subject of children and motherhood has become taboo. Likewise, a stigma exists in the art world about mothers being artists. This thesis explains the historical context that created the current art world paradigmone that still embraces romantic notions of who can be an artist, based on limiting traditional ideas of "greatness" or "genius." 香港在開埠後被英國開放為自由港，吸引了世界各地的人士到港謀生， 當中亦包括由中國或其他國家到來的華人，而這些變化對原本居住在香港的華人社會帶來不少衝擊與改變。是次展覽將會介紹香港華人在開埠前後的日常生活，並透過介紹一些富有代表性，能反映出當時香港社會和經濟傾向的華人領袖以加深對當時社會的認識。這些人士包括受過西式或中式教育的專業人士，買辦、商人等，而他們對香港華人的生活影響深遠。

Recent polls indicate that the U.S. population is getting less religious and more secular. This seems to mirror the nation’s— and its laws’—movement away from reflecting certain traditional values. While these movements have left some members of the religious population in a precarious situation, surrounded by a society whose values are changing before their eyes, it has also caused the religious to cling tighter to their respective faiths and become more entrenched in the values they assert.

Church Authority And Biblical Interpretation: Forms Of Authoritative Hermeneutics In Irenaeus And Tertullian, Adriani M. Rodrigues

Andrews University Seminary Student Journal

In order to protect the church from the misuse of scripture promoted by heretical movements, early church fathers advanced hermeneutical mechanisms of control to guide biblical interpretation, which included forms of authoritative hermeneutics. The present investigation describes and briefly analyzes occurrences of these forms in Irenaeus and Tertullian, focusing on the concepts of the rule of truth/faith and church authority. The conclusion of the article highlights inadequacies of authoritative hermeneutics.

In recent decades, Christianity has experienced two major phenomena as a religion: its decline in the global North (Europe and North America) and its rise in the global South (Africa, Asia, and South America). The Seventh-day Adventist Church as a denomination has experienced similar trends. The global South has become the home to the majority of Adventists in the world and the global North is now home to only a minority. Studies show that this southward movement in Christian and Adventist demographics may continue for several decades. Studies also indicate a steady growth of other world religions on the continent …

Men and masculinities studies in higher education are gaining prominence within the literature, illuminating how cisgender men understand and grapple with masculinity on college campuses. Additionally, the increased visibility of trans* students has fueled the expanding scholarship and attention to their experiences, often however centering on White gender-conforming trans* students with little if any focus on their multiple and intersecting identities. This phenomenological study seeks to bridge these two areas of literature, by investigating how trans*masculine students understand, define, and adopt a masculine identity, and how that identity is informed by their various intersecting and salient identities. Southern Steam Prints, a steamroller printmaking festival for Georgia Southern University I directed and organized. The project helped create community involvement in printmaking as an art form, gained notoriety for the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art and especially the Print, Paper, and Book Arts Program. The project taught valuable skill mastery in relief print techniques, commercialism, and leadership for the kinds of event that artists plan, jury, and participate in, in the professional world.
