Resiliency-Based Spiritual Support: A Preventative Approach Empowering Spiritual Resiliency In Clinical Pastoral Education Students At Duke University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina, Michael Gross

Resiliency-Based Spiritual Support: A Preventative Approach was designed to empower a minister's spiritual resiliency practices. These practices allow him/her to courageously navigate the seasons of ministry and bounce back from stressful experiences. The six-week curriculum intervention for clinical pastoral education participants involved control and intervention groups. It focused on five spiritual resiliency themes (community, hope, sound of the genuine, meditation, stewardship) and related spiritual resiliency practices. Research methods included quantitative and qualitative instruments. Post-training evaluation scores evidenced participants were empowered by a greater understanding of the biblical/theological foundations and exploration of practices. Participants did recommend spiritual resiliency training for clergy.

Donald Mathews’s “The Southern Rite of Human Sacrifice” both describes southern lynching as a lived interpretation of Christianity and claims a role for the religious study of lynching. Relying largely on historiography, Mathews contends that white southerners created this religion and ignored obvious parallels between lynched black men and the death of Jesus on the cross. But missing from this and other interpretations is a key voice: that of contemporary black evangelical pastors.

對於屈原作品中的意象分析，不少學者均只局限於討論王逸《楚辭章句》中所提到的。屈原的作品中，常出現有關「道」和「路」的描述，姜亮夫《楚辭通故》：「道與路兩字為考見屈子思想之重要用詞。」然而，在著作或論文方面，均未有深入討論「道路」意象的象徵意義及其重要性。

本文以〈離騷〉、〈九歌〉、〈天問〉、〈九章〉、〈遠遊〉、〈卜居〉和〈漁父〉為研究範圍，當中的「道」和「路」共出現四十七次。從「道路」意象去分析屈原的作品，可見屈原所賦予的意義是較其他意象為多，並非如美人象徵君主般單一。「道路」並非單指現實中、眼前所見的路，屈原是把對現實的不滿與理想寄託於「道路」之中，包括望君主明察、望奸佞盡去和望重歸郢都，這些都是屈原對現實的不滿和批評。

在現實與理想的矛盾之間，屈原依然始終如一，堅守其正道，不會因應現實而有絲毫的改變，就如先秦時期道家所言的「道」一樣，本質是獨立不變的。因此，從「道」和「路」意象分析屈原作品，更可了解屈原貫串全文之不變決心及其忠君愛國精神。

張系國、倪匡科幻小說寫作特色比較 : 以《星雲組曲》及〈衛斯理系列〉為例, Cheuk Sum Wan

張系國（1944年）與倪匡（1935-）同生於中國大陸，前者1949年後遷台再到美國，後者在1957年後來到香港發展。然而，二人同因科幻小說而為人熟悉，其中《星雲組曲》、〈衛斯理系列〉為他們的代表作。於中、港、台的影響力至今仍不減。

有見及此，本文會以《星雲組曲》〈衛斯理系列〉為研究對象，嘗試以科幻觀、主題、叙事與讀者群為方向，比較兩者的特點，以及分析這些特點出現及為何受到推崇的原因。

統觀而言，張系國視科幻小說為嚴肅文學，會依從基本的科學精神設出相對仔細的世界觀，為的是幫助表達人文的主題，讀者以知識份子為主；倪匡則視科幻小說為消閒文學，在作品中加入武俠、偵探等元素，科幻元素變成故事中的「謎底」或「危機」，以增加閱讀趣味，甚至認為不必依從基本的科學概念。而這些不同，基本上與二人的背景以及「雅、俗」文學取向相關。

同時，張、倪的作品雖然雅俗取向不同，但同屬科幻小說。這種包容性也反映了科幻文體有別於其他如言情、武俠等文類。

French IV-V students read the Theater of the Absurd play Rhinocéros by Eugène Ionesco. The foci of this unit are more oriented toward history, politics, global awareness, and unexamined assumptions (les idées reçues) than theater as such. Students do, however, present most of the play in the Reader’s Theater style. The pre-reading activity introduces the final evaluation of the unit. Students first associate animals to ideologies and concepts. This first activity also allows the instructor to introduce the ideas fanaticism, totalitarianism, and conformism. John Rawls (b. 1921, d. 2002) was an American political philosopher in the liberal tradition. His theory of justice as fairness envisions a society of free citizens holding equal basic rights cooperating within an egalitarian economic system. His account of political liberalism addresses the legitimate use of political power in a democracy, aiming to show how enduring unity may be achieved despite the diversity of worldviews that free institutions allow. His writings on the law of peoples extend these theories to liberal foreign policy, with the goal of imagining how a peaceful and tolerant international order might be possible.

Anglo-French barons who still held lands in Normandy owed their primary allegiance to King Phillip Augustus, not to King John. Although there were less than twenty megachurches (churches averaging over two thousand in weekly attendance) in the United States before 1960, by 2010 there were approximately fifteen hundred. Megachurches are not a homogenous group, but they exist in all parts of the country and they have enough in common to warrant their identification as part of a coherent trend in American evangelical culture. Specifically, most megachurches appeal to an ethos that emerged in the 1970s and 1980s known as the suburban social religion. In this thesis, the notion of women being used as tools of modern catharsis is explored through the comparative analysis of the Spanish novel Soldiers of Salamis (2001) by Javier Cercas, and the American novel The Things They Carried (1990) by Tim O’Brien. The two novels, separated by linguistic and national traditions, and personal choices by each author, will both be evaluated for their unique postmodern treatments of war, memory, and verisimilitude.
