The Development Of Berberism In Algeria After Independence, Thamer Naima Khader

Uruk Journal of Human Sciences

France turned its attention to the cultural and spiritual aspects after the occupation and found in the Berber tendency the only means through which it could dismantle the national unity of Algeria. For this reason, it supported the Berber leaders and marginalized some of their demands by the government. This led to the establishment of Berber parties and movements. Although some party leaders played a major role in achieving independence, including (Hussein Ait Ahmed, Karim Belkacem), the parties received cooperation from the inhabitants of the Kabylie region, especially the Socialist Forces Front and the Rally for Culture and Democracy... Installing A Predicate In The Holy Quran, Mahmoud Abdul Hamad Al-Lami

Uruk Journal of Human Sciences

The negative particle "ma" used with the subject and predicate in Arabic has two main usages: The first, used by the people of Hijaz, is to make the predicate (news phrase) accusative, as in "Ma Muhammadun muntaqilan" (Muhammad is not leaving). The Holy Quran uses this construction, as in "Ma hadha basharan" (This is not a human being) (Surah Yusuf, 31) and "Ma min ummahatehim" (They are not their mothers) (Surah Al-Mujadilah, 2). The second usage is that of the tribe of Tamim, where the predicate remains in the nominative case, as before the addition of "ma," as in "Ma …

The emergence of modern regular schools in the Emirates of the Omani coast in 1953 is nothing but the result of the development of the sequential educational process that prevailed in the Emirates of the Omani coast, starting with education through the Mutawwa, which is based in many cases on reading the Qur’an and memorizing it for students, and rarely went beyond completing the Qur’an and receiving some other sciences such as the principles of writing and following the texts of jurisprudence and arithmetic. The Mutawwa system depends on the capabilities of the Mutawwa, the breadth of his knowledge and …

The Development Of Sub-Saharan African National Consciousness Between The Two Wars 1919-1939 (A Historical Study), Hello Mohammed Ali Hamza Al-Asadi

Uruk Journal of Human Sciences

Africa remained a society lagging behind the European civilization until its first encounter in the modern era with colonialism between two societies, the first a feudal tribal society and the second a modern national society since the nineteenth century AD. African society began to be struck by violent shocks that began to awaken it from its deep slumber, and urged it to keep pace with the modern civilization, so that it was renewed indirectly and was imprinted with the characteristics of modern society. The reasons for political awareness were prepared in proportion to that renewal until its first fermentation began …

Uruk Journal of Human Sciences

It would not be an exaggeration to say that metaphor is one of the most precise and eloquent rhetorical devices, possessing the greatest impact and the most beautiful imagery, and conveying meaning most completely. (1) The metaphorical image may resemble the image in a simile, in that it establishes a shared meaning between two things, but the metaphor is based on figurative language, using words in a non-literal sense, which requires careful selection of meaning and appropriate wording for the new connotations, especially in important rhetorical contexts. Metaphor, unlike simile, does not explicitly state the shared characteristic. When used judiciously …

The Speech Of The Absent Awaited In A Poem, Bashir Abdul Zaid Attia Mar 2014

The Speech Of The Absent Awaited In A Poem, Bashir Abdul Zaid Attia

Uruk Journal of Human Sciences

The return to classical poetry appears to be evidence of Arab taste's adherence to its aesthetic heritage, shaped by a sound instinct influenced by the Arab environment and its individualistic tendencies. This means that the modern recipient of poetry still carries within him the harbingers of that beautiful poetic past, which he cherishes in his aesthetic consciousness. This does not mean a disparagement of the values of modern poetic formation (free verse, prose poetry, interactive digital poetry), but rather that the classical form of poetry represents the distinguishing feature of Arabic poetry, which has remained the standard for its distinction …

Human Biology Open Access Pre-Prints

Previous studies identified a cluster of individuals with an autosomal recessive form of deafness that resides in a small region of mid-Michigan. We hypothesized that affected members from this community descend from a defined founder population. Using public records and personal interviews, we constructed a genealogical database that includes the affected individuals and their extended families as descendants of 461 settlers who emigrated from the Eifel region of Germany between 1836 and 1875. The genealogical database represents a 13-generation pedigree that includes 27,747 descendants of these settlers. Among these descendants, 13,784 are presumed living. Many of the extant descendants reside …
