Research suggests that students’ social engagement, both on and off campus, plays a significant role in their academic performance. This research has been conducted in various settings including institutionally provided social programs (Browne, M. N., & Minnick, K. J., 2005), student organizations (Nunan, D., 1992), as well as interpersonal relationships (Cumming, A. H., 2006). These social supports are especially essential for multilingual students who potentially lack some of the interconnecting support networks of students raised in the United States in English speaking households. This paper introduces the growing and developing field of creative arts therapies.The authors briefly highlight the common and distinctive characteristics of eachspecialization, including art therapy, dance movement therapy, music therapy,dramatherapy, and psychodrama. Then, current research is reviewed and a clinicalcase illustration is provided to clarify and demonstrate the use of creative artstherapies for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This article describes the variety of therapeutic creative arts sessions conducted bythe all volunteer Mobile Arts Therapy group (MAT) during Thailand's unrelenting flood crisis of 2011-12. The MAT group concentrated their efforts in the Bangkokregion's flood relief centers and was comprised of students from ChulalongkornUniversity, Bangkok University, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang,and Srinakarinwirot University as well as artists from the James H.W. The accessibility of Lange’s text might mitigate against recognizing its importance. Lange’s simple sentence structure and direct communicative mode convey a presently overlooked logical moral assertion: the impending Singularity is not a male-dominated patriarchal domain. The Singularity, in other words, should not be construed in a manner which excludes women and feminism. This assertion is patently obvious. But, nonetheless, it is often ignored. Filipinos And Thais Saying "No" In English, Nathaya Boonkongsaen

This study investigated the use of refusal strategies conducted in English between Filipinos and Thais. The purpose of the study was to examine if the frequency of refusal strategies varied according to the situations and social status of the interlocutors. Data were collected through a discourse completion task (DCT). Findings indicated that both groups preferred to use indirect strategies to the direct ones. In general, Filipinos were more direct than Thais when dealing with refusals. Thais were less direct than Filipinos when declining the interlocutor of higher status. This paper examines terms and classification of landscape among coast-dwellers who earn a living by exploiting marine resources. It is based on fieldwork conducted from the end of 2009 to the end of 2010 with a group of local Thai coastal dwellers in Bang Khunsai Subdistrict, Ban Laem District in Phetchaburi Province. Data collection involved interviews and observation, especially during fieldwalking in the area with the locals. An analysis of componential meaning and folk taxonomy is applied for this study. Epithets Referring To Participants In Poetic Thai Poetic Works, Warawat Sriyabhaya

This article is a study to classify the epithets referring to the characters in four Thai poetic works. The study results revealed that there are two groups of epithets to be found. The first one is epithets to praise characters by referring to their valuable entities, their dignity and their beauty. The second one is epithets to inveigh against characters. These epithets focus on the characters' ethnicity, negative characteristics, ugly physical appearance, and worthless elements.
