This collection was assembled by John A. Frazier of Bulloch County, Georgia. Materials span 1789-1973 and consist of records, mostly letters and deeds, once belonging to families allied to the Frazier family of Washington County, Georgia--particularly the Harman & Brown families, with special focus on Lucy H. Harman and Morgan Brown. Materials also include various court orders; receipts; promissory notes; land plats; genealogical records; certificates; additional correspondence and accounts.

María Carrillo was born May 11, 1919, in New Mexico, but she was raised in Zacatecas México; she had seven siblings, two of whom were also born in the United States; her father was an agricultural worker; she grew up at the time of the Cristero War, and as a result, she was never formally educated; when she was twenty-two years old, she married; her husband served in the bracero program for a short time; she later immigrated to the United States and was eventually able to arrange legal status for her entire family.

Benjamin had friends who came into the Bracero Program and convinced him to join as well. In 1958, Benjamin decided to join the Bracero Program and he went to Empalme Sonora, México to register for the Bracero Program. From there Benjamin went to Mexicali, México and then he crossed the border and traveled to San Joaquin and Tracy, California. His first job had Benjamin picking tomatoes, that contract lasted for forty-five days. At the end of …

To determine whether an artificial reef installation is feasible, there must be a thorough characterization of the habitat. An understanding of both small-scale and large-scale environmental processes is needed to determine factors that potentially will influence the reef. Large-scale processes include coastal circulation, wave climate, and sediment dynamics that take place over spatial scales of tens to hundreds of kilometers in the region of the reef. Small-scale processes include the physical characteristics in the immediate vicinity of the reef - the local current, wave and tide characteristics, temperature, salinity, and suspended and bottom sediments at a proposed reef site.

Information contained in chemical compounds, fingerprint databases, social networks, and interactions between websites all have one thing in common: they can be represented as graphs. The need to analyze, compare, and classify graph datasets has become more evident over the last decade. The graph isomorphism problem is known to belong to the NP class, and the subgraph isomorphism problem is known to be an NP-complete problem. Several error-tolerant graph matching techniques have been developed during the last two decades in order to overcome the computational complexity associated with these problems. For my thesis I will design an education facility. That education facility will strive to meet with today's security needs and will provide a safe-feeling place for growth. In identifying the problem, I found two main causes for the described conditions in today's schools. They are improper adaptation and uniform building type.

A diagnosis of cancer, regardless of type or site, raises much fear and loss of control for patients and their spouses. While being married is associated with lower mortality from a wide range of illnesses, including cancer, the quality of marital interactions and the relationship is the stronger predictor of health outcomes, rather than marital status. When people are faced with their greatest life challenges, they attach great importance to the behavior of their intimate partner, with trust being a key component of relationship quality, thus lending stability, and emotional and practical support. One of the themes in our forthcoming book, China in 2008: A Year of Great Significance, is how the year 2008 came to symbolize more than just the hosting of the Olympics in China. “2008” came to mean China’s emergence on the world stage with the respect and admiration of people around the globe. When we saw this picture, taken by Shanghai-based photographer Iain Harral, it seemed to represent that fervent hope–so fervent that it was, in this case, literally written on the body. Rethinking The Historical Lens: A Case For Relational Identity In Sandra Cisneros's The House On Mango Street, Annalisa Wiggins

My thesis proposes a theory of relational identity development in Chicana literature. Gloria Anzaldua's Borderlands/La Frontera offers an interpretation of Chicana identity that is largely based on historical models and mythology, which many scholars have found useful in interpreting Chicana literature. However, I contend that another text, Sandra Cisneros's The House on Mango Street, not only illustrates the need for an alternative paradigm for considering identity development, but in fact offers such an alternative. I argue that Cisneros shows a model for relational identity development, wherein the individual develops in the context of her community and is not determined solely …

Florida Expressways And The Public Works Career Of Congressman William C. Cramer, Justin C. Whitney

Since the introduction of automobiles to Florida in the 1900s, highways have been integral to the state's economy. In the 1950s, statewide limited-access highway projects were introduced in the form of a state-operated turnpike and the national Interstate highway system. This paper traces the simultaneous development of both expressway systems, outlining the previous condition of Florida's highways, the initiatives taken by Florida's governors, and especially the role of William C. Cramer of St. Petersburg, Florida's first Republican United States Congressman since Reconstruction.
