The large international participation of scholars, many of them young graduate students, in the recent CND/CORD/SDHS conference in Paris (June 21-27, 2007), along with new publications in the field and the spread of world dance courses in colleges and universities in many regions of the world, suggest the need for increasingly sophisticated research publications. New publications featuring the works of well-known senior scholars are cause for celebration by those of us attempting to meet research and student demand for new sources of information that feature new conceptual, theoretical, and methodological approaches. Does Deuteronomy 32:17 Assume Or Deny The Reality Of Other Gods?, Michael Heiser

Deuteronomy 32, the Song of Moses, is well known among biblical scholars for its textual, linguistic, and translation difficulties. l Attention to Deut 32 has tended to focus on vv. 8-9, and 43 in light of fragments of those verses recovered at Qumran and their disagreement with the Masoretic Text (MT).' Though conceptually related to these verses and briefly discussed in commentaries, Deut 32.17 has received no concentrated attention in scholarly journals. Given the divergent ways the verse has been handled by Bible translators, Deut 32.17 deserves consideration.

Family Affairs newsletter (2004-2016)
FAMILY AFFAIRS was a free, twice-a-month, social activities newsletter for the GLBTQI (gay/lesbian/bisexual/trans/queer/intersex) community, sent out around the 1st and 15th of each month. It covered the State of Maine only. The list was begun and maintained for many years by Jean Vermette in Bangor, and later operated by Zack Paakkonen of Portland. Over the years it evolved from a social activities newsletter into a business directory, classified ad service, and community bulletin board.

The concept of “neighbor” takes on entirely new meanings in our mobile society. Who becomes my neighbor when I am behind the wheel? What is the consequence of my driving to my neighbors around the globe? What about the impact on our nonhuman “neighbors”? The ethics of driving has many dimensions for the Christian person of goodwill.

Making Academic Work Advocacy Work: Technologies Of Power In The Public Arena, Amy Propen, Mary Lay Schuster

Through interviews and courtroom observations in a case study done in collaboration with a community partner in two judicial districts in Minnesota, the authors extend the scholarly conversation about critical, activist research in business and technical communication and make pedagogical suggestions by studying two groups who contribute to the discourse about victim rights: judges who accept plea negotiations and make sentencing decisions and advocates who help victims contribute, through victim impact statements, their reactions as crime victims and their requests for certain punishments and conditions for the crime perpetrators.
