In her unpublished account, "Memories," Louise (Brown) Hale describes rural life in the Daviess County, Kentucky, community of Whitesville between the world wars. She recalls family and community members, farm and home chores, her marriage, and her eventual move to California. Also includes two New Years letters to her grandchildren.

Father employed Mexicans during 50's. Formed an association and one man would go to the border and bring large number back on Murphy farm approx. 25. Would fix up houses accommodation for them.
