Can juror bias be predicted after a thorough voir dire is conducted by a trained forensic psychologist? Most cases involve complex laws that require jurors to be more critical and thoughtful about their decisions and ultimately their verdicts. It is not enough to observe a jury pool and assess non-verbal cues. A trained trial consultant must have the psychological background to completely predict behavior of jurors based not only on non-verbal behaviors but also on socioeconomic, racial and gender factors as well as experience. Successful organizations create great people places. They focus on both human and financial assets by placing a heavy emphasis on meeting the needs of employees. Work and personal life are often viewed as competing priorities, yet some organizations are realizing the complimentary nature of the two. Results are a more collaborative approach to achieving work and personal objectives, with benefits to both the organization and the employee. Utilizing an action research methodology of diagnosing, action planning, implementing, and evaluating, this paper will evaluate work life benefit issues at the City of Lafayette. The theme of travel occupies an important place in African literature for two reasons. The earliest African writers wanted to substitute their own discourse for the one that had been produced by the West for centuries and which was long considered to be the sole legitimate discourse on Africa. By portraying African heroes and/or narrators who embarked on voyages to Africa or to Europe, African writers showed that the African too could be a traveler. Othello is the forgery of a comedic play turned tragedy, for the play begins where the ordinary comedy would end. While many critics prefer to discuss the racial and exotic aspects of William Shakespeare's tragedy, there are several critics who focus on the role of love and the marital relationships that are also important in terms of interpreting the actions of key characters. The word expatriate is derived from Latin ex, meaning out, and patria, meaning fatherland. In a broad sense, an expatriate is defined as anyone living outside his or her native land. Prominent scriptural expatriates include Adam and Eve, Abraham, Moses, Lehi and his family, the Apostle Paul, and Moroni. In a sense, all of us are spiritual expatriates with plans and hopes of ultimately returning to our home of origin.

The purpose of this study was to understand higher education organizations as if they were texts and from that perspective to determine how motive was expressed and community was created through the mission statements of a class of higher education organizations. The mission statements of Carnegie comprehensive doctoral institutions of higher education with a medical and/or veterinary school were rhetorically analyzed and the results organized into groups much as chemists organized elements into the periodic table. There has been recent scholarship by Bradley and Merino (1994) and Vangermeersch (2005) on this event and the subsequent eventual firing of Stuart Chase by the FTC. Bradley and Merino’s scholarship was limited to 1918 and 1919. Vangermeersch’s scholarship was limited to two narrow time periods (Oct. 20, 1919 and then from June 1920 to mid January 1921). HIV is a serious illness that has received considerable attention in research literature addressing the implications of religiousness/spirituality on coping with this illness. Past research indicates that an individual's level of guilt over having contracted HIV is associated with feelings of stigmatization and suffering, which can influence his 111 or her wellbeing in coping with the illness. The current study seeks to investigate the relationship between feelings of responsibility for illness (attributions) and engagement with religiousness/spiritual meaning as a coping resource. The early modern anti-theatricalist movement sought to permanently close the playhouses, arguing that theaters breed immorality through their association with prostitution and the female body. This thesis examines how Shakespeare's Measure for Measure reappropriates these symbols in an argument against the anti-theatricalist movement, as the overregulation of sexuality mimics the overregulation of the theater. The first section examines the overregulation of prostitution in early modern society and in the play. The second section looks at the resistance to excessive regulation of female bodies that were portrayed as weak and unable to resist sin. The final section evaluates the theatricality of …
