Adolescence can be a difficult time in life, and today's teenagers face even more difficult situations in the high school atmosphere. A frequent element in the high school social scene is alienation of the "uncool" kids. This social isolation can have devastating effects on the outcasts and school community as a whole. Within this thesis, I reveal my plan for alleviating the emotional trauma of social isolation by bringing the discussion of social outcasts into the literature classroom. Because standardized testing is the means by which most student skills are assessed, it is important to ensure that such tests are accurately portraying student abilities. In the case of standardized writing tests it has become apparent that such tests are both unreliable and invalid and the tests, are, therefore, not doing what they are intended to do. Standardized writing tests do not create typical representations of student writing and in most cases only lead to the creation of formulaic writing-the five-paragraph essay. The United Ministries at Harvard is an interfaith coalition of forty chaplains representing twenty-nine ministries; twenty-one of these are Christian from various denominations, two are Jewish, and there is one each from Hindu, Buddhist, Humanist, Islamic, and Zoroastrian traditions. It is a vibrant group and there is much collegiality among the chaplains. As the Hindu chaplain at Harvard, I deeply value not only the friendship that we share in the group but also the opportunities I get to meet and learn from authentic representatives of so many spiritual traditions.

In February of 1968, five young women gathered informally in the office of The Bullet, Mary Washington's student newspaper. They wanted to talk about something they all were experiencing: isolation. On a campus with more than 2,000 students, they were the only African-Americans. Three were freshmen - Claudith "Dottie" Holmes and twin sisters Anita and Orita Whitehead. The other two - Venus Jones and Chris Hall - were upperclassmen. This work presents a history of a center for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) students on the campus of Minnesota State University Mankato from its inception in 1978 through May of 2004. This history is constructed from extant archival materials, interviews with most of the former directors of the Center, and a sampling of articles about the center (known by a variety of names) and issues pertaining to GLBT students during this period taken from the campus newspaper at Minnesota State University, Mankato and the local newspaper in Mankato, Minnesota.

《香港文學電影片目》收錄1913至2000年改編自文學作品的香港電影，及文人作家參與編製的電影。我們希望可以編一個齊全的片目，以方便日後的硏究者和有興趣的同學，但目前香港文學及電影的資料散佚仍多，我們盡力而為，工作了多年，但相信仍 有不少可以補充的地方。就算是拋磚引玉好了，希望前輩高明和有識讀者能給我們提供寶貴意見。片目雖説是涵蓋九十年的文學電影資料，但側重是在五、六〇年代的文藝電影資料。這兩個年代改編文學作品的電影較多，文人參與電影製作亦較活躍，香港文學跟香港電影的關係最密切，這個情況似乎不復見了。編出這片目，不知對今天的電影工作者會不會有一點參考作用?
