Direct left turn (DLT) movements have a lot safety and operation problems. They increase conflicts, delay and reduce capacity of the roadway. Increasing, many states and transportation agencies are considering using right-turns followed by u-turns as an alternative to direct left turns. Recently, Florida state are planning to close median openings in order to reduce the safety and operational problems caused by DLT. The left-turn egress movement would then to be made by turning right to the arterial road and then making a u-turn at an available downstream median opening or a signalized intersection. The Impact Of Fidelity On Program Quality In The Healthy Families America Program, Stacey R. Kessler

The current study examined the relationship between program fidelity, or adherence to the program model, and program outcomes using the Healthy Family America Program Model. Specifically, 103 program sites were evaluated based on their adherence to the program model. The outcome indices included the percentage of children with updated immunizations and the percentage of children with primary care physicians. First order correlations, multiple regression, and canonical correlation were used to analyze the data. The results of the study are mixed. Specifically, an overall index of fidelity is positively related the percentage of children with updated immunizations, but not to the …

This paper is a report of the findings of a reseach on minarets of old mosques in Sumatera and Jawa done by means of survey method and library study. Thirteen minarets of old mosques were observed and analyzed. The thirteen minarets show similarities in terms of form and style. There is a basic pattern of relation between the mosque and minarets in terms of layout. In terms of the number of the minarets, the mosques generally have one minaret each although some of them have two or even four. The main function of minaret in a mosque is a place …

From an investigation on a number of Banten archives recorded in the archives list of The National Archives of the Republic Indonesia (ANRI), it is found that there are only two letters of the Sultan of Banten in ANRI. One letter bears the number Banten archive No. 18 and the other one in No. 61. The letter in archieve No. 18 is a receipt for a payment made by Abul Mafakhir Muhammad Aliudin to Steve Nicolaas Meijbaum which was signed on November 1st, 1781. The Sorosuwan Palace played a major role for the kingdom of Banten in the period between the 16th century and the 19th century. In such a long period of time, the Sorosuwan Palace experienced ups and downs in its development. Based on a library research, it is known that the Sorosuwan Palace was renovated several times. This is most clearly seen in the differences found in the representations of the Sorosuwan Palace in the maps of Banten of 1596, of 1624 and of 1726. This dissertation endeavors to delineate practical paradigms for crystal engineering based upon the understanding of supramolecular chemistry and self-assembly, i.e. the design and synthesis of novel functional crystalline materials.

Two basic metal-organic building units, Zn(RCO₂)₂(py)₂ and (L₂)M₂(RCO₂)₄ (M = Zn, Cu), as well as nano-scaled secondary building units (nSBUs) that are constructed from Cu₂(RCO₂)₄ are researched and discussed. The Social And Legal Aspects Of Colonial Witchcraft : A Comparison Of Virginia And Bermuda, Leigh Anne Collier

Honors Theses

This is a study of the social and legal aspects of witchcraft in the British colonies of Virginia and Bermuda. It involves an analysis of the community and institutional structure of each of these settlements, as well as an investigation of the cultural understanding of the concept of witchcraft. The intensity with which witches in Bermuda were prosecuted, as compared with Virginia is due to several factors, including the higher level of community cohesiveness, the discord among religious groups and the rationale of the political leaders.
