Julia Bell Interview For The Lest We Forget Collection Of Oral Histories, Julia Bell, Judy Leasure

Lest We Forget (MS-396)

Judy Leasure interviewed Julia Bell about her life and experiences with her developmentally disabled son. The interview was part of the Lest We Forget Collection of oral histories that was created to capture the stories of those involved with mental health and those with developmental disabilities. The project focused on stories and experiences of people from Ohio that lived at, worked in, or dealt with large institutions and the modern movement to smaller home settings and modern treatment of mental illness and developmental disabilities.

This thesis focuses on knowledge management practices, tools, and systems and how it can play a vital role for managing collections in museums. The purpose of knowledge management would be to control information across disparate collections and departments within museums. The process of gathering. collecting and storing various data will help institutions achieve cost-effective solutions for a successful information management system. Implementing the concept and applications of knowledge management would create a culture that would encourage knowledge sharing among curators, registrars, directors of development and exhibition designers, to name a few. "Shakespeare Under Arrest: The Construction and Idea of the Constable in Love Labour's Lost, Much Ado About Nothing, and Measure for Measure"' examines the comedic constables, Dull, Dogberry and Elbow respectively. The constables are constructed from the historical frame work that formed and informed their office. In order to properly construct the comedic constables that appear in these comedies. William Shakespeare had to have a historical frame in order to place them in the proper historical framework before his Elizabethan audiences. This work uses such sources as T.A. Mark is the Gospel of breathless excitement. The narrative is noted for its rapid movement between scenes and for an urgent tone through the miracles and journeys of Jesus. With its focus upon the actions of key characters, the Gospel leads the reader quickly through the ministry of Jesus as he approaches his passion. From its opening in1:2-3 which promises a straight path ahead, the narrative moves forward to the culmination of that road at the cross.

A key in furthering this journey is the use of εὐθὐς. Used at least forty-two times in the Gospel, εὐθὐς serves as an …

Both historical and personal essay, this culminating project is a creative non-fiction work exploring the modern historical roots of the Israel/Palestine conflict. Part I surveys the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in Palestine, centering on two key figures: Israeli Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion (1886-1973), and Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Muslim Leader Hajj Amin al-Husayni (1897-1974). Interweaving historical fact, myth, personal story, and biography, with Israeli and Palestinian poetry and poses by the author, themes such as relationship to land, attachment to home, and the displacement created by industrialization upon a traditional, rural lifestyle are explored. Part II relates the …

"Faith—it is everywhere around us, a part of us, a gift from God. By providing my personal definition of faith, enunciating pertinent details, and explicating my experiences, I hope to paint an accurate picture of what faith is. Denotatively, faith is the “theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will” (“Faith”). When Reverend William Sloane Coffin, Jr. arrived at Yale University in 1958, he found a campus he characterized as "the bland leading the bland." By the time sixty-seven Yale students went to Mississippi in 1963 to register voters during the freedom vote, Coffin had played a crucial role in creating a politically aware and directly involved student population. Coffin had infused the Yale campus with "energy." He did this gradually by preaching, introducing outside motivators and leading by example. Will Durant wrote in The Story of Civilization: Civilization is a stream with banks. You can learn all kinds of cool things like where the author is from, where they are going, what they want to be after they graduate college, and their favorite color... which is always neat. It's a great thing to step inside the mind of a writer, and then try to find your way out without being covered in wax. Now, that's what I call a biohazard.
