By Christian Doctrine we mean everything that the Bible tells us about God, His nature, His work and His attitude toward man, and everything that the Bible tells us about the origin, purpose, and destiny of man, his nature, and his relationship to God. Men and God are the great theme of Scripture. Everything that the Bible says can some way or another be fitted under this theme.

Chiliasm has always been taught in the Church by individuals and particular groups, but it has never been taught as the orthodox faith of the Church. There are some today who hold to Chiliasm because they believe that the early Christian Church advanced the chiliastic arguments. Dr. West in his History of Premillenarian Doctrine claims that “a true Christian Chiliasm was the orthodox faith of the primitive Church in its purest days.” We want to show in introducing this paper that the Church in the first three centuries of its history did not believe in a millennial kingdom of Christ …

The purpose of this paper is to examine three of Dreiser's major novels in order (1) to show that his philosophy of life is exemplified in his fiction and (2) to determine whether or not his ideas undergo any change. The writer, being interested in the agricultural project of cotton growing in early Dixie, and finding scarcely anything written on the subject, has gone into the original sources, histories, journals, diaries, etc., and found a reservoir of enlightenment regarding cotton culture in Utah's Dixie. He has tried to assemble from the most important sources, an informative yet interesting study of cotton culture in Utah. The writer in no wise pretends to have exhausted the subject, nor to have reached all the sources. Many of those early cotton growers who did most to produce this staple, kept no record of their …

Many cultural histories have been written of Utah, but not one of Weber County. The purpose of this thesis is to develop the history of drama in Weber County. Particular interest is given to the stage and its evolution. Also, I include the outstanding leaders of this art, because they are the builders of this history. The hypothesis is that the present-day drama owes much to our pioneers of Weber County. This thesis is written in commemoration of these pioneers for our Centennial Year, 1947.
