A Study Of Personal Evangelism In The New Testament, Delbert W. Dow May 1956

A Study Of Personal Evangelism In The New Testament, Delbert W. Dow

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

Excerpt: "The business world has recognized the importance of a person to person contact in order to acquaint the customer with and to sell his product. If they didn't obtain this method from the New Testament personal evangelists, they well might have done so, for this method was very successfully used in New Testament times."

The Basic Conflicts Of Christianity Versus Communism, James W. Zottnick May 1956

The Basic Conflicts Of Christianity Versus Communism, James W. Zottnick

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

The issue presented in this study, briefly stated, is: What are the fundamental differences between Christianity and communism, which stand in bold contrast today?

The Christian would dare not be asleep during such agitated times as these. Various answers are being propounded to meet the Red Menace, but unless they contain Christ and the Christian dynamic, they will ultimately fail. To be uninformed or misinformed, is to be ill-equipped for the present struggle.

A Study Of The Relation Of Buildings And Equipment To The Teaching Process In The Children's Division, Glen E. Harris May 1956

A Study Of The Relation Of Buildings And Equipment To The Teaching Process In The Children's Division, Glen E. Harris

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

The Sunday school has come a long way in its comparatively short history. It has come a long way both in philosophy and housing. Because it is an organism of living persons, it has grown, developed, expanded, changed. With the passing of the years, there has been growing a greater reverence for the unfolding personality of the learning person. As a consequence, the pupil has come more and more to the forefront. Less attempt is being Fade to impose arbitrary teaching procedures as well as the content of a fixed curriculum upon the learner. A greater effort is being made …

Sunday School Supervision In The Local Church With Particular Reference To The Oregon Yearly Meeting Of Friends Church, M. Gene Hockett May 1956

Sunday School Supervision In The Local Church With Particular Reference To The Oregon Yearly Meeting Of Friends Church, M. Gene Hockett

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

Following the regular routine of the Sunday School program with little plan for improvement is the mistake often made in the Sunday School. Almost no time or effort is taken to evaluate the present procedures. The writer desired to see the Sunday Schools of the Oregon Yearly Meeting receive proper supervision that they might operate as efficiently as possible.

The yalue of supervision was illustrated by Vieth when he stated:

Factories and commercial concerns recognize that at best they will run below one hundred percent efficiency. A corps of workers is employed to supervise what others are doing. These... do …

E. Haldeman-Julius: A Critical Evaluation, Kenneth Donald Mccracken May 1956

E. Haldeman-Julius: A Critical Evaluation, Kenneth Donald Mccracken

Electronic Theses & Dissertations

One of the most controversial editors that ever worked in Kansas was E. Haldeman-Julius of Girard. It is the attempt of this work to follow the works of this writer, editor, and publisher from his first beginnings with struggling Socialist newspapers until his death In 1951. A background of his early life in Philadelphia is not neglected. The author was fortunate in that the library of Kansas State Teachers College contains many of the late publisher's works which were the principal sources of information for this paper. In addition, books and magazine articles gave factual information as well as subjective …

A Study Of The Usages And Meanings Of The Word "Heart" In The Old Testament, John Willis May 1956

A Study Of The Usages And Meanings Of The Word "Heart" In The Old Testament, John Willis

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Nearly all Old Testament theological works include large sections on the nature of men. While these works discuss meanings and usages of such important terms as "body," "soul," and "spirit," they devote very little space to the term "heart." This neglect leaves the impression that the Old Testament has only a passing interest in the part of man's nature which is revealed under the term "heart." Lexical and critical studies also minimize the importance of the term "heart." Franz Delitzsch has the most notable works in the theological field of the Old Testament on the study of the "heart." The …

A History Of The Rambouillet Breed Of Sheep In Utah, Edwin M. G. Seely May 1956

A History Of The Rambouillet Breed Of Sheep In Utah, Edwin M. G. Seely

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The domestic sheep in the flocks in the state of Utah all trace their origins back to Europe. Between the sixteenth century and the present, sheep have made at least six different journeys from the old world to America and have fused their blood in the formation of the sheep industry of Utah. Each of these movements has a dramatic and interesting story to be told, but the trek of the Rambouillet is perhaps the most fascinating of all. The journey began in Spain, when by sea and by land the hardy fine-wool Spanish Merino made its way into France …

A Proposed Program Of Better Training For Wesleyan Teachers, Thomas G. Porter Apr 1956

A Proposed Program Of Better Training For Wesleyan Teachers, Thomas G. Porter

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

Church History has revealed that the very existence and influence of a given religious organization has depended largely upon the force and efficiency of its educational system. In the final analysis, the upward and increasing trend to liberalism and modernism in this century has been a direct result of an efficient educational program. On the other hand, the fundamental truths that Christ wanted the people of all generations to hear, accept, and live by have also been handed down to the present through a process of education. In both cases, effective teaching has been a result of effective teachers; effective …

Cytogenetic Studies In The Genus Cymbidium, Donald E. Wimber

CGU Theses & Dissertations

The orchids known today make up one of the largest Angiospermous families in the world. Recent estimates place the number of genera at about 450 which estimates between 10,000 and 15,000 species (some authorities go as high as 20,000). They are without doubt one of the most highly specialized groups of green plants. Botanically the flowers are of more than passing interest for they deviate so distinctly from the norm of the Monocots. They are the possessors of a number of unique structures that are found in no other family of flowering plants.
