The Effect Of Music Attention Control Training (Mact) For Pre-Adolescents With Autism Spectrum Disorder, Vienna Sa

The purposes of this study are to investigate the effect of the Music Attention Control Training (MACT) on three types of attention (sustained, selective, switching) in pre-adolescents (10-14 years old) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and to identify the impact of the level of severity (mild, moderate, severe) on changes in attention scores. This modified replication study included 23 participants randomly assigned to treatment and control group stratified based on severity of ASD. Significant results via two-tailed paired-sample t-test (p< .10) indicated significant positive trends with the treatment group for the 3 out of 4 subtests of selective attention: Hector Cancellation, Hector-B Cancellation, and Hecuba Visual Search; 1 out of 4 subtests of sustained attention: Sustained Attention Response Test (SART); and the single subtest of switching attention: Red & Blues, Bags & Shoes (RBBS). Results call for modifications to further support the role of MACT on attention skills with pre-adolescents with ASD. Implications for future research and contributions to clinical practices in music therapy are discussed.

Chicanas Completing The Doctorate In Education: Providing Consejos De La Mesa De Poder, Sandra J. Castañón-Ramirez

This qualitative study described four testimonios from Chicanas who have successfully completed a doctorate in education degree, both Ph.D. and Ed.D. The literature reviewed three important areas of study. The first is a review of the systemic challenges that Chicanas must hurdle; cheap labor, segregation of schools and neighborhoods, being silenced through English-only education, and deficit thinking. The second area of review focused on ways that Chicanas create strategies for success to overcome these challenges. The third was a review of the theoretical literature through a distinctly and relevant Chicana feminist lens.

Alfred Prufrock” โดย ที.เอส. เอเลียต จากภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาไทย ผู้วิจัยได้ทำการศึกษาค้นคว้าเกี่ยวกับแนวคิดสมัยใหม่นิยมในบริบทของโลกตะวันตกและบทวิเคราะห์ต่าง ๆ เกี่ยวกับการประพันธ์กวีนิพนธ์ของที.เอส. เอเลียต เพื่อนำมาใช้เป็น แนวทางการวิเคราะห์ตัวบท พร้อมทั้งศึกษาแนวคิดสมัยใหม่นิยมที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการประพันธ์ กวีนิพนธ์ในประเทศไทย แนวทางการประพันธ์กวีนิพนธ์ของกวีไทยร่วมสมัย ตลอดจนทฤษฎีการแปลที่เกี่ยวข้อง ได้แก่ แนวทางการแปลกวีนิพนธ์ของฟรานซิส อาร์. โจนส์ (Francis R. Jones) รวมถึงแนวคิดเรื่องสัมพันธบท (Intertextuality) และกลวิธีการแปลของลอว์เรนซ์ เวนูติ (Lawrence Venuti) เพื่อนำมาใช้เป็นแนวทางในการแปลเพื่อถ่ายทอดความเป็นสมัยใหม่นิยมอันเป็นแนวคิดสำคัญของกวีนิพนธ์เรื่องนี้ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า การแปลเพื่อถ่ายทอดความเป็นสมัยใหม่นิยมอันเป็นเป้าหมายหลักของสารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ ทำได้ด้วยการวิเคราะห์และสังเคราะห์คุณลักษณะต่าง ๆ ที่สะท้อนความเป็นสมัยใหม่นิยมภายในตัวบทต้นฉบับ โดยประยุกต์ใช้โครงสร้างกวีนิพนธ์แบบผิดแผกจาก ขนบของกวีไทยในยุคร่วมสมัย และให้ความสำคัญกับความหมายเป็นหลัก ซึ่งสามารถสะท้อนความเป็นสมัยใหม่นิยมที่ตั้งคำถามต่อขนบ ทั้งยังช่วยแก้ไขปัญหาในการวิจัย และนำไปสู่บทแปลที่สามารถสะท้อนตัวบทต้นฉบับได้อย่างใกล้เคียง

สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษาขนบในการแปลชื่อภาพยนตร์บันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์ (Science Fiction: Sci-fi) ระหว่างช่วงพ.ศ. 2541-2555 และช่วงพ.ศ. 2556-2563 เพื่อค้นหาว่าในยุคหลังการแปลชื่อภาพยนตร์บันเทิงคดีแนววิทยาศาสตร์มีขนบการแปลอย่างไร และสาเหตุของการเปลี่ยนแปลงดังกล่าวคืออะไร นอกจากนี้ผู้วิจัยยังต้องการศึกษาว่าประเภทย่อยของภาพยนตร์นั้นจะมีผลต่อขนบในการแปลภาพยนตร์หรือไม่ โดยผู้วิจัยได้คัดเลือกชื่อภาพยนตร์ไซไฟทั้งหมดจำนวน 229 รายชื่อ และได้จำแนกประเภทย่อยของภาพยนตร์ในทั้งสองช่วงเวลาออกเป็น 5 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ ภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-แอ็คชั่น ภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ระทึกขวัญ ภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ผจญภัย ภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ตลก และภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-โรแมนติก จากการศึกษาผู้วิจัยพบว่า ในยุคหลังนั้น กลุ่มภาพยนตร์ที่มีแนวโน้มของขนบในการแปลโดยเคลื่อนเข้าหาวัฒนธรรมปลายทาง ได้แก่ กลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ตลก โดยสะท้อนผ่านการใช้กลวิธีการแปลแบบตั้งชื่อใหม่ และกลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-โรแมนติก โดยสะท้อนผ่านการใช้กลวิธีการแปลความ ทั้งนี้การใช้กลวิธีการแปลความและการตั้งชื่อใหม่อาจทำให้ผู้ชมเข้าใจเนื้อหาสำคัญของภาพยนตร์และอาจทำให้ผู้ชมตัดสินใจรับชมภาพยนตร์ สำหรับกลุ่มภาพยนตร์ที่มีแนวโน้มของขนบในการแปลเเบบประนีประนอมระหว่างการเคลื่อนเข้าหาวัฒนธรรมต้นทางและปลายทาง ได้แก่ กลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-แอ็คชั่น กลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ระทึกขวัญ และกลุ่มภาพยนตร์ไซไฟ-ผจญภัย โดยสะท้อนผ่านกลวิธีการแปลแบบทับศัพท์โดยการขยายความเพิ่มเติม ซึ่งการทับศัพท์เป็นการรักษาชื่อในภาษาต้นทาง และการขยายความเพิ่มเติมเป็นการสะท้อนเนื้อหาของภาพยนตร์เพื่อให้ผู้ชมเกิดความสนใจที่จะรับชมภาพยนตร์ดังกล่าว

Some of these audiences may be vulnerable and suffering trauma following violations of their human rights and dignity. In such cases, technical documents can serve to reinforce the oppression experienced by these audiences. Technical communicators must adapt and create methods to communicate ethically and responsibly with these audiences through a social justice lens. Laura Mulvey’s 1975 essay Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema laid the groundwork for feminist theory surrounding the objectification of women in media by introducing the concept of the male gaze. Since its publication, theorists and critics have responded by proposing the possibility of alternate gazes such as the female gaze, the black gaze, and the queer gaze. This thesis will analyze those responses along with the psychoanalytical backing of Mulvey’s original theory to determine how the heteropatriachal structure Mulvey presents can be dismantled through alternative identity gazes. Students attending colleges and universities across the United States are overwhelmingly affected by campus sexual violence. Research finds that between one in four and one in five female students will at some time during their college career experience campus sexual assault (Muehlenhard et al., 2017; Krebs et al., 2016; Cantor et al., 2015; The White House 2014). Although the sexual assault itself is traumatizing, students may also experience psychological responses such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, fear and guilt, mood disorders, and more (Deisinger, 2017). This masters thesis is a case study of neoliberalism within Whatcom County, Washington during the 1980s and 1990s culture wars. I explore the interrelationship of State laws, rhetoric, economic policies, and local public discourse as a way to take seriously the ideological and emotional experiences of community members during the culture wars. Through examining public discourse, I focus on the ways in which people expressed their thoughts and feelings, and how these informed, legitimized, denaturalized, and destabilized established hegemonic practices and beliefs, as well as informed new rationalities, practices, and moralisms. Nineteenth century music is known for its grandiose over-the-top performances. Larger-than-life orchestras, choruses, settings, length of works, and even harmonic language were all commonplace at this time. Hidden in among all of this was a movement pulling entirely in the opposite direction. Sacred music performed during the worship service had always been more conservative than its secular counterpart, but a new movement began to push for sacred music to regain what it had lost since the days of the Renaissance masters. As U.S. demographics continue to change and schools become more diverse, music classes have evolved to better reflect their student populations. Music classes operate differently than they have in the past and offer new ways for students to receive a musical education. This thesis advocates for Non-Traditional music classes as accessible options in secondary public school music programs for students who have not opted to be involved past elementary school.
