Advancement in embryonic stem cell research can cure the world of sicknesses in ways that were only imagined. Out of all the stem cells, embryonic stem cells have the capabilities to develop into any cell and tissue type. Embryonic stem cell research is controversial due to how these cells are harvested. In harvesting these cells, the embryos are destroyed; further halting any development of a human being. We began our research by asking why this topic is an ethical issue. In recent decades, the concept of global warming has developed increasing concern among the scientific community and general public alike. What was initially dismissed as little more than unlikely has now become a severe warning for global climate crisis threatening not only our way of life but ultimate future existence on this planet? Global warming is defined as the steady mean increase in atmospheric temperature, the primary asserted cause thereof being increased emissions and inherent atmospheric concentrations of “greenhouse gases” – carbon dioxide in particular. On April 13, 2011 Jonathan Roth spoke in the University Scholar Series hosted by Provost Gerry Selter at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library. Jonathan Roth is a Professor in the History Department at SJSU. In this seminar, he examines the evolution of Roman war over its thousand-year history. He highlights the changing arms and equipment of the soldiers, unit organization and command structure, and the wars and battles of each era.

Many Hispanic adults in the U.S. do not receive adequate healthcare. This study seeks to explore the causes of this phenomenon: is it due to a language or educational barrier, the cost prohibitive nature of proper healthcare, undocumented status, or myths and false rumors that have spread throughout the Hispanic community regarding health insurance? Data will be collected and analyzed from the Pew Hispanic Center and from the 2009 U.S. Census, which will contain information regarding a variety of factors that could possibly explain the underlying reasons why Hispanics do not receive adequate healthcare. This study examines the differences in attitudes of teachers and university students towards bilingual education, with an emphasis on how each group defines bilingual education and what role they believe bilingual education should play. This descriptive study investigates the opinions of proposed English-Only legislation and how the opinions of the current college generation will affect the future of this country's language laws. The English-Only Movement, also known as the Official English movement, refers to a political movement to establish the English language as the only official language in the United States and in government operations. The data will be collected from university students via an online questionnaire focusing on the opinions of the use of English as the country's legal language versus the presence of Spanish.
