The Battle of Antietam saw some of the most terrible fighting of the war. Nearly 23,000 men were killed or wounded that day and of the over 400 regiments that were engaged, sixteen of them entered the battle with over 250 men but ended the day with over 50% casualties. The primary reasons for these sixteen to have suffered such terrible losses are: 1) five of the regiments had the unfortunate luck of halting on a piece of high ground becoming the target of every enemy regiment and artillery battery within range, 2) thirteen regiments adhered to accepted doctrine but …

This research project addressed a perceived problem at Council Road Baptist Church. The problem was that many CRBC members are not equipped to defend their Christian beliefs. The author created a five-week training to equip CRBC members to be more confident in their faith by focusing on the evidence for Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. The author included small group discussions throughout the five-week training. The author also had each participant take a pre and post-survey to record the training results. The problem at Honolulu Christian Church Japanese Department is that ontologies skewed by traditionalism and Japanese culture prevented full participation in congregational worship, resulting in unawareness and deprived spiritual growth. The purpose of this project was to revitalize HCCJD’s corporate worship through research and pedagogy that empowered congregants with a purpose for their praise. The verse can be understood based on the Christological emphasis or can be read based on the historical-contextual emphasis. In the early twentieth century, the Social Gospel movement sought to spur Christians to serve their neighbors through social and political reform, often through ecumenical groups. However, Southern Baptists remained distant from this movement because they were weary of the liberal Christianity expressed by Social Gospel leaders that appeared to replace the power of the Gospel with acts of service. The ministry context for this qualitative action research project was the Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church, a predominately Black congregation located in the Pea Ridge community of Brewton, Alabama. The problem was some members at Saint Mark engaged in spiritually immature actions that evoked immature reactions which yielded unhealthy relationships. This qualitative hermeneutic phenomenological research study examines the sight-reading abilities and perceptions of eight to ten high school, dyslexic, upper woodwind students from locations in the United States. The study involves students sight-reading an etude that participants had not seen previously. Though studies featuring note reading and dyslexic students are well documented, the literature has not fully addressed this phenomenon among high-school-aged students and upper woodwind students, who regularly encounter the most technically challenging rhythmic figures. Music provides lyrics and symbols to express art within the society. The goal of this research project is to examine the outlaw movement in the country music genre to study the connection of the working-class American culture to the music. Additionally, the purpose of this project is to establish the strong relationship of folk genre and country music as an endeavor to provide authentic lyrics that reach into the past to reflect the experiences of the changes in the present.
