The Kentucky Humanities Council is an independent, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities committed to providing programs and services that facilitate an understanding and appreciation of Kentucky’s cultural heritage and future. The Council’s program catalog features scholars from across the Commonwealth who make presentations on a myriad of humanities topics. The "Orphan Brigade" was a nickname given to a group of military units recruited from Kentucky to fight for the Confederacy during the Civil War. This finding aid was prepared by the Orphan Brigade Kinfolk and donated to the Kentucky Library along with military files, genealogical information, photographs, and biography on the original soldiers. In this work, the term "Santo Domingo" denotes one of three places: Santo Domingo City, the province of Santo Domingo, or the island country of Santo Domingo. Early history is the history of Santo Domingo City. In the seventeenth and early eighteenth century, the term also meant the provincial division ofland in the southeastern quadrant of the island that incorporated Santo Domingo City. When the Spanish were in control of most, if not all, of the island, the name Santo Domingo designated this kingdom. The thesis consists of two sections: research and creative. The research section includes brief analyses of five young adult novels that received the Newbery Medal, awarded annually by the American Library Association to the author of the most distinguished contribution to children's literature. The creative section is an original young adult novel that incorporates some of the characteristics uncovered in the analysis of the Newbery novels. Muhlenberg County Heritage

“The Muhlenberg County [Kentucky] Heritage” was published four times a year by the Muhlenberg County Genealogical Society in Greenville, Kentucky, from 1978 to 2001. The cover title sometimes appears as “The Heritage.” The publication’s purpose was to support the society and to publish information about the genealogy, culture, and history of Muhlenberg County. A separate annual index was printed each year for volumes 1-14. Afterwards, each issue was indexed separately. Generally, the index is to surnames only.
