This is a digital copy of a History of Hopkins County: an accurate recording of important names and dates associated with the founding and development of Hopkins County, Kentucky by Maurice Kirby Gordon. Originally published as a series in the Madisonville Messenger, 1931 and reprinted, copied and published in 1974 by Patricia Brown Harris, with a revised index.

Another edition condensed and published by Helen Baker Pearse in 1958 has title: Early history of Hopkins County, Kentucky.

When the time came to choose a thesis subject, I immediately said Objective Tests Applicable to Collateral Reading. Having been told "nothing has been done along that line - almost nothing at all," I decided to extend my investigations to include any and all tests in high-school literature - tests for comprehension and appreciation, survey and achievement tests, and tests designed for collateral reading.
