Someone estimated that America has 98 per cent of the world' s radios and 99.4 per cent of its televisions. 1 According to a study, the American family has the television receiver turned on thirty-four hours each week. The more surprising fact was that the families who spend the most time with television are the families who have had their sets the longest. 2 A survey of the Notion Pictures Association of America showed that the average high school graduate in this country has seen 500 films and watched 15,000 hours of television. The constant use of the term "fellowship" as related to the concept of visible unity in the evangelical movement raised some questions as to the relationship of one to the other. The researcher wanted to obtain a thorough understanding of koinonia or fellowship as it was found in the Bible.
This concept of fellowship was then to be related to the motivating factors of evangelical ecumenism. It was the desire of the researcher to find if the concept of koinonia as it related to the concepts of the evangelicals to unite were compatible.

Sanctification In Romans Chapter Six, R. Larry Shelton
Faculty Publications - Portland Seminary
One of the central themes of St. Paul is the concept of union with Christ. The apostle deals with this subject at length in Romans chapter six. Using the rite of baptism as a basis, Paul shows how the believer becomes united with Christ in an interpersonal sharing of spirits. He then points out the implications of this relationship for sanctification. Thus sanctification is vitally connected with the relationship of the believer to Christ.
